Pestana CR7 Funchal

The property itself is beautiful, situated in the middle of Funchal I’d say. If you are CR7’s biggest fan, you can also see nearly all his achievements which are located in the same building, CR7 museum.

Anyway, the pool is not that deep so I hit my head at the bottom of the pool when I jumped into it, eventually it happened on my last day so yeah, it did hurt! The jacuzzi and the sauna apparently are not working all day long, from 10:00 am until 6:00pm, I’ve found out only after I asked at the reception. There is an elevator but you can use it only if you want to get down in the lobby. By the way, last 2 times when I used the elevator there was an unpleasant smell of some sort of chews I reckon, can’t say exactly. The hotels in situated next to the port so whenever a big ‘bad ass’ boat comes, you will hear the noise all night long unless you are drunk or tired as f#ck.

The rooms were super nice. Pool are is great, the breakfast is great. Some of the stuff is exceptional, some of them are just okay.

The location is one of the best and worst thing. It is close to everything important in Funchal but it's located in the port which can be noisy during night and early in the evening. Also there is non-hotel restaurant which was a bit noisy every day at least until 1am. This would not be such a problem it the balkony doors seal properly. If they solve this then the hotel would be much better experience.
