Hotel Rohan

Two things only. The location was very good and the staff were good but some of them not professional.

The maintenance of the premises was very poor. We where three guests in two rooms at level two. When we arrived on the first night in late afternoon, we checked in and our rooms where upgraded by the hotel and where given two rooms at level two. Rooms where very small and no drawers at all in the room. The safe in both two rooms where out of order and did not work. No one even bothered to correct this problem. We where told that this problem was historic. The web site clearly states that the rooms have safety deposit boxes. No fridges in the rooms. Breakfast was very poor. On the the third day the coffee machine packed up and could not have coffee in the morning. The next two days was the same, no coffee. On the the fourth day, the machine that boils the eggs packed up. No one can have any boiled eggs. The fifth day was the same. No eggs on the table as there was no working machine to boil them. The breakfast was the poorest I have seen in my travels around the world. It was feeble and unbelievably poor. My self and my wife paid nearly 1000Euros for 5 nights inclusive of breakfast. I will never go back to this hotel again if I visit Strasbourg once more. This hotel and services should be rated a three Star at best. Never a four star. Although the staff where few numbered, they tried to do their best and were very polite and helpful. I do not have the habit to comment on the the hotels I stay in as they come up to my expectations. But in this case I had to write my above experience through out our stay. I may add that the the other guest in the other room who accompanied us from thousands of miles away shares our findings above.
