Located right next door to the blacksmith's bar, there is a party there every night so you dont have to go far to be apart of it all. It was in walking distance to the Stanley restaurant were we loved eating breakfast. In room #5 groundfloor it's off the courtyard and yes it can be noisy but the park is that during the day the courtyard is empty so you have it all to yourself. The staff where all very personable and easy going.
The room really needs a air purifier because it is so old and dusty. Also, my only source of heat was a space heater and I was scared to leave it on all night so I was up every few hours turning it off and on. It was in the 40s so I needed heat. Also the bed was really rough, but clean. There are very large windows next to the bed, and only curtains slightly covering them, so we had to use clips I had and clip them up more otherwise the people chilling in the courtyard would get a eye full. lol I tell you this. Not to complain but so you are aware. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here during Mardi Gras and had an absolutely fantastic stay. I love unique hotels with a history and this hotel definitely hits on both. It is located in an old mansion, which means each room is different. The hotel features a beautiful grand staircase, ornamental ceilings, chandeliers, brick walls, and antique furniture. I also love that they feature art by local artists throughout the halls and in the rooms. As an additional plus, the staff are amazing. I didn't catch their names, but the same man and woman were at the front desk for the duration of our stay and they were both very friendly and helpful. The other great thing about this hotel is its location. It is very walkable to everywhere in the quarter, and there are a grocery store, coffee shop, and multiple bars and restaurants within a block. I’ve seen some reviews complaining that the hotel is run down or dirty, which I disagree with. Our room (34) was clean and yes, there were some dings on the wall, chips in the floor, etc. but that is part of the charm – you are staying in a building that is over 100 years old! We stuck our head in another room located at the front of the mansion (room 20) as it was being cleaned and it was gorgeous. Smaller than room 34 but it has a private balcony facing Bourbon Street. We’ll probably try to stay in that room next time!
We stayed in room 34, which is out back facing the courtyard rather than in the main mansion (you go out a back door from the main house and enter the room from a shared walkway/balcony). This meant that our room was VERY loud because all that is between the room and the outdoors is double french doors with giant windows. It is probably not a big deal during most times of the year but during Mardi Gras, it was loud because the room overlooks Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar, which at that time of year was pounding music all day and night. I imagine any room located in the main mansion would have been much quieter since their doors face a shared interior hallway. Our room was also really cold, and we couldn’t seem to get the AC/heating unit to blow hot air. Lastly, the bathroom (at least in the room in which we stayed) was quite tiny. There was lots of storage for toiletries, but you had to awkwardly inch around the toilet to get to the sink after entering the room. I do get that this is a very old building though, so they are probably restricted on the layout.

Great location. Comfy bed. Historical building added to the immersion. Balcony was awesome.
The window leaks severely when it rains. Bathrooms were smaller than expected. A thorough gallery of each room should be included online instead of only select rooms.

Can't say enough great things about the staff of this hotel! The entire group were immensely welcoming, informative and went out of their way to be helpful. I will definitely be staying her again on future visits. Of my 10+ NOLA stays, this was by far the best - terrific staff, perfect location, comfortable room and great facility!

Almost everything was perfect. Location, on Bourbon St in the Quarter, but the quiet end, close to great restaurants and bars, as well as the Frenchmen District. The Hotel Bar was top notch. I liked the room (21) except the bathroom was too small. Nice comfy room with nice balcony. Plenty of storage for clothes, etc.
The only thing I didn't like was the size of the bathroom. Trying to not be too graphic, had I been 3 inches taller (I'm 5'7") I wouldn't have been able to use the toilet. I say this because my knees were 3" from the sink cabinet. It was clean though, with decent fixtures. I hear they're remodeling all the bathrooms. Correct this one thing, and everything about the stay would have been 5 out of 5 stars.
