Railay Bay Resort And Spa

Amazing location right on the western beach (A million miles better than the eastern one) We has a privacy bungalow and the spa bath was super fun. Pool overlooking sea is great too. Great breakfast options.

Feels quite large, some rooms are basically on the eastern beach (so very misleading the location to be honest) more of a tourist machine and less atmosphere. They were ultra strict with the 2pm check in, felt a bit rigid. Really expensive alacart drinks and food (eat on the walking street, 2 mins away to the right of the resort)

The location and setting is beautiful. We went in the middle of March 2020 as coronavirus was starting to ramp up so the beaches were really quiet. The pool is fantastic and right on the beach, and a perfect position for the sunset. There's also another pool away from the crowd if desired.

The room was really big so in order to keep the room cold, we had to have the AC on during the night. The AC was positioned directly over our bed so we were really cold in the bed at night but the rest of the room wasn't cooling enough to turn the AC off. It wasn't a comfortable sleep. The staff need to impose a policy to remove towels from sun loungers by the pool that are not being used. We regularly noticed the only sun loungers with all day shade were empty from early morning until 4-5pm when people returned to catch the sunset. The buffet breakfast was decent but there were loads of ants in the jam. Coffee other than filter coffee was additional cost.

Location amazing, we upgraded to a cottage and was worth every penny.
