Hotel-Restaurant Volapük

The hotel is within a 15-minute walk through the country side to the beautiful island of Mainau and has a wonderful view of the lake and mountains. Our nautical-themed room was comfortable and even had a flat-screened TV. The bar and restaurant staffs were very, very friendly.

The wireless internet would not work in rooms in the adjoining building. When we went to the desk for assistance, the gentleman blamed our firewall and threw our receipt (with access code) away. After a few deep breaths, we convinced him to retrieve our receipt from the trash and figured out how to gain access in the lobby.

The location was perfect, only a 15 minute walk down to the lake and the Isle of Mainau. You can sit on the patio in front of the hotel and drink wine and look down over the fields to the lake, the view is beautiful. The staff was very nice to us. The restaurant was good for dinner, and they had a great breakfast too. There is a small playground for the children in the back of the hotel; they had rabbits too, and the kids loved it. For going into Konstanz, you can catch the bus for free and be downtown in 10 minutes. I would like to go back down to Mainau, and Konstanz a few times this summer, and I will definitely stay at this hotel when I go.
