Porto Palacio Congress Hotel & Spa

The Porto Palacio is a very comfortable hotel with really spacious rooms. The room I stayed in had a comfortable double bed, plenty of storage space, a TV and desk as well as two bathrooms; one with 2 sinks and a bath/shower, and the other with a toilet and bidet. Upon arrival to the room, there was a small chocolate placed on the bed, as well as a dressing gown and slippers in the bathroom, which was a thoughtful touch. Room service was also available, although I did not make use of this during my stay. Guests also have access to the spa at no extra cost, although treatments are extra. Breakfast is served on the floor below reception in an airy, spacious room with a good selection of hot and cold food, as well as a selection of pastries, including the famous Pastel de Nata. Car parking is also available at the hotel, and guests are provided with a voucher for a free drink at the rooftop bar in the hotel upon arrival. The location of the hotel is good - it's located a 10 minute walk from the nearest metro station (Casa de Musica), which you can use to get into the city centre and see the sights. The City Sightseeing bus has a stop right outside the hotel (just across the road), which is also a really convenient way of getting into the centre of the city. You can also check out a fado concert at the nearby Casa de Musica venue, which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, a very comfortable base to relax and see the sights of Porto.

This was a great stay, my only suggestion is that it might have been nice to see a menu for what spa treatments were available in the rooms (like the room service menu), and a small fridge in the room would have been convenient.
