Hotel de Neuve by Happyculture

The staff was pleasant enough, and I did need a similar location. It was convenient to use booking.com.

I did not like the fact that the hotel was overpriced, with the room so small it was impossible for two people to move around in the space. Rates seemed to vary wildly, based on which night was booked.The web site was somewhat deceptive as to what you were getting for that price. It was not a good value as compared to the others we stayed at in the same area, such as Hotel Nice and Hotel Place Des Vosges. The hotel lacked charm,convenience or value: any of the reasons for booking a 2 star place.

Excellent location, clean room.

The air conditioning made a horrendous noise (not the one in our room but the general air conditioning system, which meant there was no escape). The staff turned the whole system off at our request (luckily it was not very hot those days) but my impression was that this was an old problem that nobody was trying to sort out. So, if air conditioning is a must for you this may not be the best hotel.

Location.

It was not "recently renovated", The furniture was shabby, the carpets stained, and the morning breakfast staff most unpleasant.

very narrow elevator and staircase, no room for too much lageges.

It was in a fabulous position, in the heart of the Marais and close to the metro, but still relatively quiet.

The "wake-up" callls were extremely unreliable.

The location vas excellent.

The smell in the room.
