Tooooo expensive for a minimal hotel.
The location was great if you could keep the windows closed. Some of the staff were very helpful. Niklas was very accommodating.
The rooms were VERY tiny and the bathroom was from the 50’s. We arrived on an extremely hot day. We had to beg for a fan for the room. The windows could not be left open because of the noise of the train, just in front. Breakfast was adequate, but unimaginative. The back patios were filthy.
Was great for me. Good for a 3 star hotel
I know other reviews criticize the internet. I always had a great internet connection; no troubles at all. But my sister had trouble keeping FaceTime going. She said it uses internet, but we don't know if it was that or just poor reception. Other reviews criticize the train noise. I was on the courtyard side (no beautiful city views) which is not the greatest to look at the back of an office building. But we got absolutely no noise. It was quiet as a deserted town. So if noise bothers you, get a courtyard room. No vibrations from the trains either. Clerks were always friendly, helpful, and even on the enthusiastic side. Someone criticized the elevators. They were old fashioned, but it's a major over-haul to put in bigger ones. I thought they were cute. The location was great. You could walk to all the sites in the center and west of the city center. It's a longer walk to the north and east sides, but the bus system is fine.
It was hot that summer and the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, but most hotels in a 3 star class do not, so I wasn't expecting it. But they provided a fan for every room and that was really nice, so we were fine. I didn't pay for the breakfast. I looked it over one morning and it was typical 3 star class breakfast: a few varieties of breads and pastries, sausage and eggs, a couple cereals, some fruit. The scrambled eggs looked they had been powdered, rather than fresh. But Copenhagen, (and the Danes in general,) is not a big breakfast city. I suggest you get it, as restaurants that open before 10-11 a.m. are hard to find. It's main drawback was cost. We stayed in Copenhagen at the last minute and everything was booked up. The Mercur was the best of what was left. So I felt I paid more than I expected for a 3 star hotel in mid September, but Copenhagen is a really expensive city, so I can't say that for sure.
