Breakfast was great. Huge serving of hovevos rancheros
Once in a lifetime experience. Great for history or paranormal buffs. Staff and tour guides are amazingly helpful and informative. Sunday brunch IS expensive, but amazingly delicious and with tons of options.
VERY NOISY!!!!! Noisy Carnival ships nearby. Noisy ice machine in corridor. Tour groups passing our door multiple times a day. Caterwauling crying lady next door one night after midnight for a full thirty minutes. Expensive food on ship and requires sticking to a "normal" schedule. No in-room fridge or microwave, so every meal requires leaving the room and/or the ship. Hot water was inconsistent at best.
I liked the location and the view.
They charged me $75.00 for my service animal upon check in. I’m a fully disabled paraplegic and didn’t feel the fluid leaking from ceiling onto my bed. It left apparent chemical burns on my leg. Charged an additional 18.95 per night for mandatory facilities fees
The ship tours and exhibits provided an interesting way to spend time. For people who find machinery interesting the engine room tour is very cool.
The hot water takes a long time to get to the room. The room was quite noisy, and the hotel is getting run down. The breakfast buffet was good but very expensive. I have been to hotels where the same breakfast buffet was free for guests.
Great spot to visit and learn more about the history of the boat.
Deeper detail when cleaning.
A sheet covering the mattress so our feet weren’t touching the actual mattress. Two bath towels since there were two people staying.
Beautiful views. Historic and fun to look around.
No heating and only has cold showers. We were freezing all night and looked forward to warming up in the shower only to find the shower was also freezing. Never warmed up.
Good hotel for the price
Quaint, good bar food, and comfortable. Romantic!
Smelled old but I’m sure due to the ship being older. Wish the hidden fees like the 16.95$ facility fee and the 22$ parking fee were disclosed up front. No AC so it was kinda hot n stuffy in our room. Housekeeping knocked at 8am but for the price it was a good stay.
Friendly and helpful staff help keep this ship afloat...
We had a lot of problems with our stay aboard the Queen Mary. Thankfully the front desk reps. and managers did their best to help fix the issues and saved our trip. The views of Long Beach are lovely at night if you're lucky enough to get a porthole. It's cool to watch other boats float by in the harbor. Room service was lightning fast in the morning for breakfast and the food was good. Check-in and check-out was fast and easy compared to other hotels I've stayed at.
Once we arrived and checked in, we got to our room and discovered two twin beds even though I had booked a queen. An even bigger issue was the fact that the ship was hosting a wedding and a concert on the ship and it turned our room into a rattle chamber. The bass was so strong that our lightning fixtures were noisily vibrating, the entire room was shaking and we could clearly hear the music, DJ,and crowd blasting away as if they had set up the speakers in the next room over facing our direction and turned the volume up to 11. We immediately went back to the front desk and voiced our concerns. The front desk rep. was able to get us in another room, on a different floor, farther from the commotion, however no queen beds were available. While I transferred our belongings to the new room, my wife decided to speak with a manager about all the issues so far. The manager turned out to be a tremendous help and she made the rest of our stay as nice as it could be. She ended up finding us a queen bed(which I politely turned down because I didn't want to relocate a third time) and waived the facility fees for wi-fi and parking [side note: the "high speed" wi-fi is atrocious and I ended up just using my normal mobile data which was also horrible due to the fact that your in a metal boat]. After finding out that we were attempting to celebrate our anniversary, she also sent us champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries and gave us a credit on our bill to use for room service or the restaurant if we pleased. The rooms are, obviously, as old as the rest of the ship and in complete disrepair. I understand it's kind of a double-edged sword because the ship is a piece of history which they celebrate, but it's also operating as a hotel and therefore should probably be a little more presentable than a cheap motel. The room also needed a little more TLC when it came to cleanliness. There was residue from something that leaked down the front of the nightstand drawers, there were leftover hairs in the bathroom from a previous occupant, and the carpet was grimy and well-worn. All that said, the Queen Mary isn't the worst place I've stayed, but it is very very far from the best and from the cost of the rooms, that shouldn't be the case.
Ignored by management reguarding billing issue
Horrible room service, room cleaned poorly and management has ignored contact attempts
History, touring the chip was fantastic
It was all fine a few shabby places, but we were thete for history. It was a little boring at night, a little load in morning deck work woke us up, but the vintage rooms a nd exploring ship was worth it to us. We really loved our experience!! Great history, we fell in love with the soul of the ship, though loeer decks were a little scary
This placr is a over price hell holr
We enjoyed seeing the old world splender and sophistication that she exhibits. We were transported back to another era of cruising. Our cabin was very nice and we also enjoyed the bar and our dinner.
Very interesting and historical. My 11 year old son loved it!! Would go back again--my second time.
The cost is plenty high. Over $20 for occupancy tax is crap plus the other taxes. 2 nights was over $400 bucks.
The veiw from the room of L.B. harbor, parking was close, able to explore the boat ungiuded. My wife had a fun time.
Did'nt see one ghost.
The fact it was the Queen Mary. All the history it must contain
Nothing (and unfortunately, the weather - which you can't control)
Ants in the bedroom!
Ok to look at ship but not stay on
It's simply great to be on the Queen Mary! Rooms are big enough. The ship is beautiful.
You can hear everything in the room near you.
Ambiance, service, tours. facilities, dining, atmosphere.
