Castle Walk Bed & Breakfast

Location, good breakfast, staff serving breakfast, en suite shower room was a good size with good size towels

Our arrival was spoilt, by nobody being there to let us in. I received an email a couple of days prior to our arrival, asking what time we expected to arrive. I replied, explaining we were catching a ferry & all being well we would arrive approximately 19.30. We arrived exactly at 19.30. As I was getting out of the car, the owner phoned me saying she had to collect her son, she’d be 5 mins. We unpacked the car & waited upstairs for her arrival. 15 mins later, I phoned her back, asking where she was? She said she was almost there! Having waited 20 mins (this was after travelling for 10 hrs, she finally arrived. She said because we didn’t have a prior arrangement for a late arrival, things were complicated! No apology! She then rushed out, saying she had to collect her son! None of it made any sense. We were very disappointed & we tried to take our car to the car park recommended, but it closed at 20.00, so we were too late! The room was a superior double, but it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in! There was a chair by the window, which just got in the way, as difficult to squeeze between the bed & the chair. There was a tiny wardrobe & no chest of drawers or dressing table. Just 2 bedside cupboards with a tiny top drawer, plus a table with kettle & tea things.
