I was forced into a middle seat and was uncomfortable and dehydrated the majority of the trip. Nice girl at baggage check said she'd ask a manager to move me, and to let them know at the gate, but the people at the gate said no. I felt discriminated against because I didn't book through them and/or I'm not Japanese. They historically love to put mushrooms in their food, like a fetish. This left me with one choice for the entree - some version of oyakodon - eggs and chicken. In my box there were two enormous chunks of fat/skin and another unidentifiable part of the chicken, and about the amount of edible chicken as 1 1/2 nuggets from Chick-Fil-A. There was more lotus root than chicken, so basically I had a box of rice and scrambled eggs with garnish. For the second meal, it was the Yoshinoya gyudon - a small serving of thinly sliced beef with rice. If I bought this fresh at a Yoshinoya restaurant, it would cost about $3. It's the rough equivalent of serving you a McDouble - cheap and filling and a coin toss if you get stomach pains. I lost that coin toss. Unless there is a big fare difference or I find out that their reserved seat policies are changed, I will choose ANA or another carrier. I used to enjoy JAL, but I cannot abide by idiotic decisions that seemed designed to punish people for using 3rd-party booking sites or who are not Japanese."

It took them two months - TWO MONTHS - to email me back, to tell me there was nothing they could do. I also had to be reticketed on my flight from Tokyo to Hanoi. It took them 3 1/2 hours to do this. I had to sit in the airport for 3 1/2 hours to get my ticket changed. Unbelievable. They could’ve chiseled it in stone faster than they issued it."

I even asked them to pull up my flight information and to confirm that, which they did. However, when I arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, my bags were no where to be found. No one has found them yet. I also called Qatar Air before my flight and asked about hotel accommodations for my layover because my layover was from 6:00 pm to 7 am. When I called, I was told that I would be given a complimentary hotel room because of the length of the layover. However, when I arrived I was told that I did not qualify for the hotel accommodation. Then, I was told that a hotel room would cost 250. When i arrived at the hotel, I was told the cheapest was 325."

Khuyết điểm: "Our flight was cancelled after 6 hours of waiting! The. We had to wait in line for two hours to reschedule to a flight two days later. Leaving the airport with 4 tired kids at 2 am. To make it worse we couldn't get our luggage. My husband had to return the next day to spend 5 hours at the airport to claim our luggage. There has to be a better way. The flight should have been cancelled sooner Very frustrating to say the least. We lost over $1000 in hotels and train tickets also. We received no empathy about this."

Khuyết điểm: "The hour wait on the plane at the gate and the slow service of the flight attendants once we were in the air and the 2 hour 50 minute flight time (when it's normally an hour flight) to "go around a storm cell" that we apparently had to fly back over Memphis to avoid."
Ưu: "Once I finally got on a plane, there were no problems. Lots of options for good films. Friendly crew on board the flight. Made it on time."
Khuyết điểm: "At JFK, I was waiting at my gate for two hours and at some point during that time, the flight switched gates. I didn't hear the announcement, and since there continued to be people around me, I saw no reason for concern until it got close to departure time and I still hadn't been prompted to begin boarding. I was trying to be patient and not bother anyone, and that was where I went wrong. I should have been more vigilant because they certainly don't go out of their way to help you at American Airlines. When I finally asked the woman at the desk when we were boarding for LA, she told me the gate had moved and was about to close, so I ran to the other gate right as they were closing the doors. The plane was still there, but they wouldn't let me through the gate. I remained calm and explained that I had a ticket for this flight. I didn't feel even the slightest bit of empathy coming from them. They put me on a long list of standby passengers, and I had to wait for several more hours until I finally got on a flight. During that time, the crew at the desks were so unfriendly and dismissive, I decided I did not want to support American Airlines again. This was the first time I had a major problem with an airline company. I tend to be a stress-free traveler, but this was a pretty awful experience overall."

Khuyết điểm: "We made thru customs and rescreening and still 18 minutes early. The gate agent literally closed the gate right I front of us. Argued that they closed the flight. AA closed the gate 8 minutes above the minimum 10 minute gate close requirement. We missed our flight and there was no announcement."

Khuyết điểm: "The seat size could be bigger, and the layover was awful. Sixteen hours is unheard of."
Khuyết điểm: "Instead of taking my one half of one ounce plastic cup half-full of wine, the stewad, allowed me to keep it. I love common sense."
Khuyết điểm: "4 gate changes, delayed delayed delayed. UGH. Sirens going off at gate no staff around to turn it off or talk to. Lady at counter very upset with pilot. We had a plane at the 2 gate but no flight crew. Next gate no plane but crew. Who organizes this? American airlines has some work to do!"
Khuyết điểm: "There is always a plane waiting at the gate in Miami if one arrives early. Not really American’s fault. Miami International Airport is the one that needs to be more flexible."

Ưu: "Crew was polite, accommodating and pleasant"
Khuyết điểm: "Seats too close together, too narrow, and without individual screens. Seats did not recline enough"
Ưu: "comfortable seating, lots of movie choices. food and drink selections were nice.Galley snack choices were underwhelming"
Khuyết điểm: "Staff was fair, but nothing compared to the service on JAL from CA to Tokyo. Very loud throughout the flight pushing the drink cart through the 8 Business Class rows instead of just delivering drinks to the 32 people in the section. Once the initial food & beverage service was complete, the service practically disappeared unless i sought them out in the galley."
Ưu: "Crew was sweet and accommodating, much better than my previous flights with AA. Flight was clean and take off and landing was quick despite the delay."
Khuyết điểm: "Second flight to get delayed in the span of a week. Bags took an hour to be distributed at baggage claim. On flight meals have no variety and are too expensive for the portion sizes."

Khuyết điểm: "Flight was 1 1/2 hrs late. Staff in customs were completely rude & had no regard for those of us trying to make connections. Had to spend the night in Philadelphia & placed on PACKED flights thru Chicago, causing even more extended delays home."
Khuyết điểm: "I am very disappointed with my flight this morning on American Airlines 1533. The crew did an excellent job. The issue, however, is the media AA chose to play at 8:30am. The NBC show that was playing on every overhead TV on the flight featured a woman being sexually assaulted by a man, someone being bludgeoned with a piece a wood until they lay unconscience in a pool of blood, and woman with a gun to her head as she’s being yelled at by multiple men. I was flying with my three year old son. Why on earth is it necessary to show this tv show (or any show that has mature/adult ratings) on a flight that is obviously going to have audiences of all ages? Our flight had a dozen or so children and when you show prime time trash on the overhead TVs, it’s really tough to keep kids from looking forward the entire length of the 2 hour flight so they don’t watch a woman being raped, a man being beaten, or someone being held at gunpoint. I am traveling on behalf of the US government so I didn’t have to pay for my ticket. I did, however, pay for my 3 year old son to accompany me on the flight and I am wholly unsatisfied with the AA team responsible for choosing in-flight ‘entertainment.’ I’m not sure if NBC pays AA to feature their shows or AA has to pay NBC for the pleasure of featuring their trash but either way, what in the world are you guys thinking?"

Ưu: "The crew was amazing - agreeing to work extra because it was Christmas eve and they wanted us all to get to our destinations for Christmas. They were very gracious and helpful."

What I was disappointed in is that the delay was not announced until our actual scheduled time to leave. It meant people coming to pick me up didn't get the change information in a timely manner."

Khuyết điểm: "The crew announced we would not receive beverage service without a reason. Also there was very little air coming from the vents, so not to receive a cold beverage on a hot airplane for a 72 minute flight (should've been 52 minutes; however we were delayed on tarmac) is not logical."
Ưu: "It’s the industry practice that the service level for 6 hours long flight is by the ‘domestic’ but it’s shaemful. No food or video screen !!!"
Ưu: "Timing was on point. Majority of the staff was friendly. Wifi with gogoflight and as I am a T-Mobile Customer is definitely a big good point."

Khuyết điểm: "staff at check-in couldn't get my TSA pre-check printed on my ticket, got picked out to be patted down in regular line"

Khuyết điểm: "i ask the crew for help to locate my luggage because we didnt pick it up after we landed in chicago for custom check! we were told in thailand that our bag will be going to wichita and we did not need to pick it up in chicago, when i try to do the self check in their machine didnt work! so i had to wait in line, and then wheni ask the crew member for help to locate my luggage she said she is too busy!!!!!"
Ưu: "Only 30 minutes or so to ORD from GRB Paid with AA points at 7,500 miles each way for a weekend in Chicago"
Khuyết điểm: "My flight was delayed leaving Ft Myers because of weather in Dallas. I got to Dallas and went to my connecting flight and was told I didn't have a seat anymore. No reason given, they just said you don't have a seat anymore and I'd have to take another flight. Complete garbage."
Ưu: "Treated very bad and rudely by the staff crew with disrespect and yelling around. Have to manners and respect for passengers. Do not want to mention names. Even the ground staff have no control over the hand carry on luggage, just allowing everyone on board and ended up with horrifying situation which caused the delays in take off, disrespect between the black and white AA staff. No respect for each other. My worst experience in history flying with AA."

Once pulling to the gate we waited another 15 minutes for someone to figure out the walkway and open the door tom the plane-- all with no communication from the crew."
