While the staff was lovely, I honestly can't believe airplanes like this are still in commission. All it was missing was an ash tray in the arm rest."

We had to queue an hour and a half for our boarding pass and check in, which makes it unbelievable how is that possible. We were there early since 815am, and only got our boarding around 10am. We nearly missed our flight as there were queue all around for security check. I guess this is the first and the last time i will travel with Vietnam Airlines."

We could not do online check in even we log in 24 hours before flight ,all seats shown available is individual. Being in the airport early does not help too. I will definitely not consider taking Vietnam airlines in future n will cautious friends to be aware of such service."

Khuyết điểm: "I have been a gluten-sensitive foodie for 7 years. I am not vegetarian. I still eat sugar, salt, spices, dairy, and fat. I have order a GF special meal for the past 3 or 4 trips I’ve flown but I always end up asking for one of the regular meals instead because the GF meals are SO awful. They are completely devoid of all salt, sauces, spices or any flavor, and are so bland that it’s like eating astronaut cardboard food. For example...the last flight I took (Manila-San Francisco), the regular meal options were a chicken sausage dish with some mashed potatoes and veggies, a wonderful colorful julienne vegetable salad, a flan pudding (GF by nature) and some bread with butter. The other option was a delicious smelling pork belly over rice (seriously some of the best pork belly I’ve ever had) and some veggies with the same sides. Everything was gluten-free except for the bread roll and looked much more colorful and fresher overall. By contrast, the GF “special” meal that I received was a plain chicken breast with no salt, steamed veggies that were overcooked and mushy to the point of colorless baby food, with no spices or sauces, a watered-down fruit salad, a rice cake with no butter and a banana instead of dessert. I was amazed at how bland and flavorless it was. Gluten-free does not mean sugar-free, low-fat, or dairy free. It simply means the absence of wheat flour. I still like sauces and spices. And I still like butter. A non-fruit dessert would have been nice. And since when does gluten-free mean flavor-free? I would have MUCH rather preferred the regular meal option with just a gluten-free rice cake substitute. Thank god they had extra regular meals for me to eat instead. Point being…if you’re not extreme celiac and just gluten-sensitive, I recommend ordering off the regular menu and just omitting the bread roll. The flavorless meal isn’t worth it!"

Most food shacks do not take credit card and no atms to get cash, come on this is 2018. Also my wife was unable to get her seats confirmed in Thailand for comection in Manila to Vancouver which meant having to line up in the basement in Manila and then argue that we wanted our seats together for the long haul home."

The flight was - freezing. I turned my light on, no one came to me. I then went and found an attendent (2 different times) and discussed that it was very very cold. I asked to see if they had another blanket, they said no. They didn't do much to change the temperature. I watched for 15 minutes, and no one went to change it. Once they did, it didn't help the situation. Later I requested again, and similarly nothing happened. The food- terrible. Dried up hashbrowns, that were overcooked. Meat, I couldn't even eat."

Khuyết điểm: "Of the four total flights, to include connections, Philippine Airlines was delayed on all legs. The delays were all after boarding and while sitting in plane. Delays ranged from 30 minutes to 75 minutes and all four flight delays were reported to be due to delays in getting baggage on the planes or getting the meals loaded on the planes according to the pilot's reports. Of note, on all four flights, the crew ran out of food before getting to our isle and had only one option remaining with no alternatives for those allergic to any portion of the meal. I would absolutely never recommend Philippine Airlines to anyone. The reduced cost of tickets was absolutely not worth the experience."

They want you to use your personal device which I would not do as this would drain my battery. There is no charging station on the plane. 3 out of the 4 PAL flights were delayed each by two hours or more. I would not take this airline again. I got a cheap fare of $600 roundtrip and now I know why it was so cheap. The airport in Manila is so shitty limited seating and limited choices of food."

Also, even some international flights will have NO entertainment system at all and no means to charge your cell phone so you can entertain yourself."

Also, it was really hard to check our flight information online since we went through a third party to book the flights. It's like they don't communicate with each other so neither seemed to be able to release the information to us."

Ưu: "The food was decent compared to all other PAL flights I have taken. The aircraft was also decent and no safety pins to hold seat pockets in place. Clean. The boarding scheme finally works when passengers are shown visuals and actually rejected when their rows are not yet called. Hopefully this service will only improve for the better and hope that flights to the US have also now improved as I have been avoiding PAL like a plague ever since the 2000s if I can as the food and service and the plane were mediocre at best. Maybe this time it is actually worth trying again. We'll see."

In order to make sure I can catch my connecting flights, I booked another flight from Legazpi to Manila on a different airline, in addition, I had to pay the hotel booking cancellation fees in Manila, since these fees can only be waved if I cancelled 24hrs in advance. Moreover when I asked for my ticket refund, they made a big deal out of it and after a ruff struggle they agreed to refund me, but whatever the refund amount was, it barely covers anything of what I had to pay for a new ticket+ 1 extra night stay in Legazpi + hotel cancellation fees in Manila, I ended up paying 400USD in total while I only got around 50USD ticket refund from them, and of course, add to that the stress and hassle I went through in doing this!"

The guy was shorter than me but felt the need to slide down in his seat to prod me in the back. Being a budget airline, many of the other passengers are families looking for a deal. Many of these families are burnt out and don't bother trying to rein in their toddlers at all anymore."

All in all, I guess I got what I paid for: I bought a cheap flight and I got bad service. Kind of expected with a budget carrier like Jetstar ."
