The Singapore Airways website does not state this anywhere, and it was not until I arrived at the airport that I was informed that I wouldn't be able to check in, but nor could I refund or transfer the ticket. The booker should be obliged, when one enters the passport information upon purchasing the ticket, to make note if the passport expiration time is not valid for the flight. Spent $600+ on the flight, and the customer service person I spoke to from the airport was very abrasive and not interested in helping me figure out an alternative."

It was not close, she was a liar. They lost my bags. They kept calling me sir despite my corrections and obvious female anatomy. They had no remorse or apologies for their errors"

The food for Vegetarian Lacto-Ovo Meal (VLML) - (A Vegetarian Meal that may also contain eggs and dairy products) was gross and the guy flight attendant wouldn't give me ice cream because I had a special meal. All I wanted for food was no meat; I didn't expect it would have no ice cream and no real food. I should've, could've taken one of the options on the food list and push away the meat myself."

I would guess the aircraft was running at 70 to 75% capacity. However, there was no space for our carry one. The passengers who go in earlier had put their bags flat and horizontal thus taking maximum room in the bins. The airhostes did nothing to control this or direct the bags. I repeatedly said that I could move the bags around to crate room. They took no heed. There were also a number of partially empty bins that had been closed early , and the air hostesses did nott allow me to look in to. Finallymy partner and I had to cross over to thebother side and place one of ou carry ons 19 rows in front of our assigned seats, and the other smaller bag in the seat on front of us. For a 6'3" man, this was very uncomfortable for 14 hrs. The rest of the flight was fine, but the boarding was extremely inefficient"

It would also be understandable if the row right before me wasn't served 20 mins prior to us, and the row right after me wasn't served 15 mins before us. I just couldn't understand how it was arranged. Maybe I should've ask for service right before they start serving meal."

I usually travel with my son who's 3 I been flying many different airlines and I know in every airlines the most annoying is the tiny restroom I don't even want to go in there. 2nd of all Most of the cabin crew are very nice and very polite some aren't when you hit the service button you are expected someone that willing to help not the face like what the heck you want from me??? It's the long flight I understand and I'm exhausted too I just need to see someone willing to help and with a big smile not grumpy face. One last thing is the food. I'm not sure who's think about the menu for kids I'm not sure it is my son or the food But he never touch the food only thing he ate are the dinner roll I hope I can see some change for kid menu pick somethings that most kid like to eat maybe? Was told at Athens check in to upgrade in Instanbul and to go to transfer desk to get upgrade. An upgrade of $1200.00 Euro's is extreme Being packed like sardines for a 10 plus hour flight is not good. It is also unhealthy. Turkish Airlines should consider something other then the 777 for any international flying."

They seemed like they could not be bothered with our problems. 2. Turkish airlines did not even bother to help with accommodations, instead giving my wife and I a small bed to sleep in vs a hotel room. The only way to get a hotel room was to leave the airport, and we could not get Visas because we were American citizens. Turkish airlines was a very bad experience. Overall this was a poor experience, and I will not fly Turkish Airlines again. I will make sure my friends and family know that this is a poor airline with poor customer service."

Khuyết điểm: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

For one thing, the flight attendant never made up our beds on the way back to Houston. For another, the sound did not work at my seat, so I was unable to use any of the entertainment. The flight attendant kept trying to give me different headphones...it wasn't the headphones that were the problem!! He never really addressed the issue or coordinated a possible seat change (even though there were empty seats in business class)."

On deplaning from a flight from Barcelona, a Turkish Airlines employee was checking boarding cards the connectivity flight and directed people to the appropriate exits for domestic and international connection. We had a connection to JFK and tried to enter the exit for international connections. She insisted that we go to the domestic exit despite my telling her we had an international connection. This led to passport control which had never occurred to me anywhere in the world when making an international connection. Next problem - I was told I needed a visa! My travel partner did not need a visa and was already through passport immigration control. The officer did not speak English and pointed in the direction I needed to go to get a via. I told him I did not want or need a visa but that was it! I started to look for the visa application area and there was no staff or anyone to help. Finally I found 4 kiosks for e-visas - only one worked. 20 plus dollars later I had the visa and immigrated. We quickly reverse the process and went though security and passport control to get back inside the international terminal. It was nuts! The boarding in Istanbul was crowded and chaotic."

Luggage was kept in IST. Now we are in LIS with no luggage and no confirmation on its whereabouts. Lost and found staff at LIS (Portway) showed total confusion in claiming luggage was in CDG. Today two planes arrived in LIS from IST, none of them with our luggage. Screen shows my name with mention "Not loaded" regarding the luggage. This incompetence is unacceptable from "Europe's best airline". This title is misleading advertising and should not be allowed."

At Istanbul, Ataturk Airport, Turkish Airline did not provide a Visa although they gave hotel and boarding passes for next days flight. At Istanbul, Ataturk airport it was a nightmare for us, as senior citizens. Why should we buy the Visa when the flight was delayed which is no fault of ours. Of the 4 automatic e-visa machines onlyEv 1 was working and there was a long queue. In between the machine stopped working for a long time and no one was there to assist or restart. They gave our boarding passes for the next days flight and their responsibility was over. We had to wait for over an hour to get the hotel. Overall it was a bad experience."

When I asked for soda water, the serving stewardess didn't tell me that she'll give it later; she just proceeded to push the food cart, so I thought she didn't hear me since she didn't acknowledge my request. The bathroom was filthy!"

By the time we finished, the staff was concerned that we might not make it to boarding time because my husband has limited mobility due to a back surgery a couple years ago. They suggested using a wheelchair to speed up the immigration and boarding process. We’re frequent travelers but why we never requested a wheelchair, I simply don’t know! But thanks to their wheelchair suggestion, we made the flight just in time."
Khuyết điểm: "We bought my husband’s business class ticket back in May or so but because we weren’t sure where I was going to be, we couldn’t get me a ticket until a few weeks before our flight. Due to my unpredictable schedule, we opted for an economy ticket, thinking that it would be easy enough to upgrade me to business. We were wrong - my ticket turned out to be non-upgradable, which was ok for me. It was our first time to travel as husband and wife so it would’ve been nice to sit together, but I’m 5’0” and fit in the economy seat just fine anyway. What was NOT ok was when we were boarded and were waiting for the plane to take off, I brought a lunch box of cut fruits to my husband. A flight attendant was introducing herself when I came so I said hi, but she completely ignored me. She even offered to chill the fruit in their fridge, for which I said thanks, but she didn’t even look at me; neither did another attendant who cheerfully offered him magazines. There were only 2 passengers in the business class so my husband suggested I sat next to him, but I declined and went back to my seat, promising to come say hi every once in a while during the 9-hour flight. Fast forward to a couple hours later, I kept my word and came by. The flight attendant was quick in kicking me out saying I didn’t belong to business class so I had to go back to my seat. I did. My husband said to her that I was having period cramps (true) then followed me to my seat and sat with me for a bit until I asked him to go back to his seat so he could be more comfortable as he’s 6’2” and simply was too tall and the economy seats were too painful for his operated-on back. Was I perhaps too short for the flight attendants to notice?!? I had to ask for a toiletries kit 3 times before they finally gave me one just before we landed after all! Obviously, those in the business class are treated like gods; those in the economy are second class citizens."

And Dubai placed me on the wrong bus upon arrival so I couldn't get my bag to transfer my bag"

There were about 4/5 staff but they sat outside the lounge & did nothing to control the passengers & keep them quiet /organised. The lounge was very crowded, very noisy & there was only water to drink & nothing to eat. For 8 hours! The very least should be to supply more seating & a facility where passengers can order coffee/tea & snacks. Also there was only 1 ladies toilet, so always occupied. The lounge Definately needs an urgent upgrade in facilities then I would consider flying Phillipine Aiines again."

The boarding scheme finally works when passengers are shown visuals and actually rejected when their rows are not yet called. Hopefully this service will only improve for the better and hope that flights to the US have also now improved as I have been avoiding PAL like a plague ever since the 2000s if I can as the food and service and the plane were mediocre at best. Maybe this time it is actually worth trying again. We'll see."
