Ưu: "JAL lounge at Haneda was the best I've ever been in. The Business Class configuration is terrific -- as private as can be on an airplane, without going First. And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops."

Khuyết điểm: "I wasn't allowed to reserve a seat - apparently they don't allow Kayak customers to reserve seats now. I was forced into a middle seat and was uncomfortable and dehydrated the majority of the trip. Nice girl at baggage check said she'd ask a manager to move me, and to let them know at the gate, but the people at the gate said no. I felt discriminated against because I didn't book through them and/or I'm not Japanese. They historically love to put mushrooms in their food, like a fetish. This left me with one choice for the entree - some version of oyakodon - eggs and chicken. In my box there were two enormous chunks of fat/skin and another unidentifiable part of the chicken, and about the amount of edible chicken as 1 1/2 nuggets from Chick-Fil-A. There was more lotus root than chicken, so basically I had a box of rice and scrambled eggs with garnish. For the second meal, it was the Yoshinoya gyudon - a small serving of thinly sliced beef with rice. If I bought this fresh at a Yoshinoya restaurant, it would cost about $3. It's the rough equivalent of serving you a McDouble - cheap and filling and a coin toss if you get stomach pains. I lost that coin toss. Unless there is a big fare difference or I find out that their reserved seat policies are changed, I will choose ANA or another carrier. I used to enjoy JAL, but I cannot abide by idiotic decisions that seemed designed to punish people for using 3rd-party booking sites or who are not Japanese."

It took them two months - TWO MONTHS - to email me back, to tell me there was nothing they could do. I also had to be reticketed on my flight from Tokyo to Hanoi. It took them 3 1/2 hours to do this. I had to sit in the airport for 3 1/2 hours to get my ticket changed. Unbelievable. They could’ve chiseled it in stone faster than they issued it."

We had a very short connection but were met as we got off our first flight in Seoul and given great instructions about how to quickly get to our connection through security while our flight to SFO was being held for 15 minutes. All in all I couldn't ask for a better way to make a 20 hr trip to the other side of the world."

I asked if I could have one after I had woken up and they asked for my seat number. I showed them that my seat was in the exit row, but never got my instant noodles, even though I saw them all ready to go in the galley. Maybe they only have a limited amount."

Ưu: "Decent food, comfortable and spacious seating, good movies made my flight decent for the long haul. I actually was able to sleep on this flight and felt Korean has done alot to make the seats more compatible for this in economy."

The flight staff seemed always to busy to help me with my needs be it giving me a customs form or asking if they could take my tray after I finished. In fact several times I was met with a rude response. I try to give flight attendants alot of grace as they work with alot of people and often they are not the nicest or easiest people to work with. In my case I tried to remain courteous but was met with a rude attitude which surprised me as I never experienced this before with Korean air. Most of the time they are some of the best staff I've ever encountered. So not sure if someone was having an off day or was tired, but on my next flight I hope that they will treat me a bit more kindly. Thanks!"

Entertainment options are plenty, I watched 3 movies and a documentary. The flight maps and outside cameras are great, and it showed that the pilots were constantly trying to find smooth air while the first portion of the flight was bumpy. They found it and the rest of the flight was fairly smooth."

None of this was written down, or even satisfactorily explained when I tried to understand what was going on. Next time I'll fly Asiana on the hope they have a better online seat selection system that doesn't involve bizarre US checkin policy."

Also had a problem with transfer at Bangkok Airport. Fortunately I had adequate time for the connecting flight but the transfer area was not opened until 7pm. The transfer process is all new to me and not really easy to understand until the first experience. The Arrival and departure boards rotate airline information which was initially difficult to understand. The headsets were a problem in reference to fitting, volume and quality of tone."

While waiting to board at 7am the next day, ground staff told us that they had to change the plane so there would be a further delay. On boarding, we discovered that it was the SAME PLANE."

But on the flight from DOH to PHL, the neck rest was awful - it only adjusted vertically (unlike the other flights), and it was too thick so that my neck was in an extremely uncomfortable position for 14 hours - not fun!"

One of the economy rest-rooms were out of order and I was allowed to utilize the business class restroom by the flight attendant. Head bursar was very apologetic and sympathetic about the whole issue. Enjoyed my flight, again on Qatar!"

There was no apology from any of the staff. No one values the time of the people who chose Qatar making it a very bad experience overall"

Khuyết điểm: "Qatar become a gold digger. They check the weight of the hand carry after first leg of the trip. My ticket was CMB-Doha-Dallas-Atlanta return. After first segment (Atlanta-Dallas or Colombo-Doha) they checked the weight of my hand carry. I have a big telephoto lens and camera. Weight exceeded 8 kgs. So they threatened to left me if I did not check my bag and pay US $ 300 which I paid. This is wrong. They did not do this to all passengers. In the flight I saw many over weight hand carries."

For a flight in which 60-70% of passengers are Indians, some extra vegetarian meals should be available (for those who do not know how to book it in advance)."

I was told I can only take one bag. This caused me to change my plans on what I can carry on my two small bags. This is also the reason why had to take a small handbag to keep everything I needed. I lost this bag at New Delhi airport. Had I been allowed the the standard tote and a laptop bag I may not have needed the extra hand bag and may not have lost my items. Emirates associate is partailly responsible for my lost items."

Ưu: "We started with a 45 min wait on the tarmac before takeoff. Then spent 14h listening to screaming children. Now, I know that isn't the airlines fault, but it would be nice to see where children are sitting when booking on such a long flight! Once we landed, the girl next to me got sick and when I flagged a flight attendant, she simply told me there's a barf bag in the seat pocket - there wasn't - so I had to part the crowd to get that lady to a bathroom. Then it took 45 min to get off the plane! The food was okay and there was plenty to watch (couldn't read due to screaming children). It was a really rough flight."

It wasn't this flight but the flight from Tanzania to Dubai, the crew sprayed the plane and I would like to know what was sprayed as it was awful and what if any chemicals were sprayed on us. Perhaps it would be better to spray the plane before the passengers board the plane."
Khuyết điểm: "There was only one flight attendant would didn't assist my friend when we asked her to please take my friend's food tray away. My friend Emily Bayne was having a major discomforting eye allergy attack. Emily eyes were burning, dry, turning red, and very itchy and she wanted to go to the bath room to run warms water over her eyes, however she had the food tray and so we push the attendant help button. But when the flight attendant came to see what we needed and we asked if she could please take Emily's food tray, she just said I will come back later for that. So I told Emily just go to the bathroom I will hold your food tray. Emily Bayne was seated in the middle and I had the aisle seat, 44H. While Emily was in the bathroom I complained to another flight attendant what had happened, she took our food trays and then told her supervisor what happened. The supervisor came shortly and assisted Emily by granting her request and providing her with two warm wet towels, and later 5 more. The supervisor and the other attendant that I complained to continue to check throughout the fljght to see if Emily needed anything else, which was nice and accommodating. The flight after that incident was good, as the supervisor immediately corrected the insensitive act of his flight attendant."

Walked on the plane asked crew how they were and got less than good reply. In flight woman never smiled, overall crew seemed tired and as though they did not want to be there. Perhaps SFO based crew on way home? Tired from flight over to Dubai? But it was really noticeable and a real difference from the flight over to Dubai from SFO 2 weeks earlier."

Khuyết điểm: "We arrived onetime yet Emirates did not have a gate at SFO so we were parked on the tarmac for over an hour after a 16 hours flight. When we got thru immigration in record time due to the newly installed kiosks, we waited for 2.5hours to get our luggage, there was only one carousel open for an entire A380 airplane with all its luggage and the boxes were piling up on each other, some of them were crushed due to overloading, it took them 2 hours to open a second carousel to offload all of the bags. During this entire time, the Emirates representatives were unhelpful, the local SFO personnel were quite disorganized as well."

Khuyết điểm: "The booking process was in itself an hassle. We booked two seats initially from MAA to SFO and we had a typo at our end with one of our names. The agent (Flight Network) were not empathetic towards us at all. They were very unwilling to help us. Emirates said they can change the ticket within 72 hours but the process has to be initiated by the agent. The agent were too slow to act on it. Finally I had to cancel one of our tickets and rebook it. After all the confusion they gave us two separate seats. I and my wife had to sit away from each other through out the flight. Nobody was clear about where and if the seats can be changed. The attendants looked disorganized and even rude at times when they were serving food. They only gave vegetarian food to people who were willing to starve and cannot simply eat meat. The rest were forced to non-vegetarian food. This was overall a bad flight. We have flown emirates a few times and enjoyed it but it will not be our first option anymore."
