Ưu: "My husband, my baby(14 months) and I took the flight from Hanoi to New York which was transferred in Korea. The flight from Hanoi to Korea got delayed so we have to fly with Asian Anna instead. The checking took so long and confusing. We barely made the flight from Hanoi to Korea and ran from different terminals to catch the flight from Korea to New York. We paid extra to select seat to sit to gether but then we found out it was just a joke to get money from Justfly since Korean Air said they only arranged seat at check in which we couldn’t check in as early as we wished due to the delay. And from Korea to New York, they lost our 4 luggages. How horrible could that be ? We are thinking about suing justly."

Ưu: "On both of my long haul flights I had very nice, new planes to fly on which were very clean. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating despite having a huge number of people to attend to. Food was good when I ate it. Seats reclined very nicely and there was the most room I've had on a flight ever. Still cramped, but you take what you can get! Would definitely fly again."

Can we not keep it kind of dim while literally everyone is trying to sleep? Also, why are you serving a meal at 3AM?! I know we took off 2 hours ago and people may want food before we get into the bulk of the trip, but it's 3AM! Everyone just wants to sleep and now the lights are on and you're offering me a full meal?! Believe me, it's great that you're trying to keep me fed, but come on, we've got 12 hours of flight left to go! 2. The movies offered were really sub par. The "new releases' only had a handful of movies I'd even heard of before and only like 3 I even cared to watch. The "movie classics" were the same way. Gotta step up your movie options when I'm trapped in your plane for 14 hours."

About an hr before boarding time they changed the gate. The plane we were taking was late arriving. Boarding time was pushed back 30 min. Everyone got on pretty quickly but then we sat in the plane, on the tarmac for over 2 hours. Idk if it was an issue with the plane, or the airport or what. I was sleeping so I didn't bother to ask but my mom was listening. She couldn't hear anything on the PA system. It was too fuzzy."
Ưu: "I love that you get meals and snacks. A lot of airlines really skimp on this, and you are left miserable, hungry, and thirsty. Korean Air will bring you drinks outside the service times set. Free additional bottles of water as well. The service is excellent, the meals are good, and I absolutely love that you get slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, and even free headphones should you forget yours. Top service! Good meal portions! I also like that you have 3-4 different meal or snack options each service. CLEAN BATHROOMS!!!! Also, the flight attendants are very polite and courteous. You never feel like they just don't care. They even help with families traveling with small children. A+ guys!"

Khuyết điểm: "It was a late direct flight from Bali to Seoul. The flight was for a 0120 departure, and about 7 hours long. For the flight being a very late departure and both locations being around the same timezone (1 hour difference) I feel as if the lights were left on for too long, over an hour after departure, and then turned on too early, 2 hours prior to landing. Too improve comfort I would suggest to begin service upon takeoff and turning the lights off immediately after, and turning them on an hour before landing to conduct service. Better yet, if possible, conduct service with the lights off and individuals that require additional lighting may use their individual light. I believe, and witnessed in my area, a majority of personnel that just wanted to sleep during these flight hours."

Ưu: "From the April 12 Sydney to Seoul flight, the landing at Seoul was so smooth, so professionally done I hardly knew we had touched ground. That Captain has much to teach all pilots wanting a higher standard to their skills and the recognition of these standards. That caption is worth his/her weight in gold, giving Koran Air a gold standard. To compare, the landing at Osaka April 12, late at night, was done by an apprentice who has much to learn from your gold star captain.."
Khuyết điểm: "The same Sydney to Seoul flight, crossed the Qld Great Barrier Reef around 11am April 12. Having a window seat, so much detail of the Reef was visible which greatly surprised me. Beautiful colours galore. Having my face glued to the window at this time, I was unaware of cabin happenings. A male steward tapped me on the shoulder and said "Close your window blind". The beautiful scene outside my window was a first and being 76 old, likely not to happen again for me. Naturally, I ask the male steward "Why", He repeated 4 more times, "Close your window blind". Each time my reply was the same, "Why". On his last request, his voice raised, so in turn, my reply was raised. Sadly, he walked away silently, hands waving in disgust. Only then did I realise the cabin was completely black, no light seen. If at 11am, traditionally, this is a custom, a service to passengers on that particular flight, the male steward didn't say. He clearly expected to be obeyed and didn't expect a challenge. But also felt I didn't deserve a reason for his, what clearly was a demand. Would he have treated a male passenger differently. I flew economy because that is what my budget demands. Flying is not common for me but certainly a thrill that demands a window seat. I give much praise to all other staff, especially the captain landing that very craft at Seoul. At my age, years of experience allows me to be aware and notice. A beautifully presented mature female stewardess in economy, served me. When I requested a beer with the main meal, she said I will give you my favourite. I knew this was double talk for having only one brand beer left, that was a weak American beer. I watched this lovely lady many times being distracted by other staff with questions and 2 other passengers near me, asking for changes. She never blew it. And she passed me in the Sydney terminal, end of the day for her and believe it or not, she remembered me. She was not in such a hurry to get to her destination, that she gave time by turning her body, giving me a wide smile with eyes saying, Yes, I served you. You see, she's never off the job of customer service. I learned much, flying with Korean Air. Many thanks, Sally"

Ưu: "We had a short connection after a Korean Air Flight from Hanoi to Seoul before catching KE 085 to JFK. The time pressure was heightened because the first flight take off was delayed. There was an attendant waiting as we deplaned in Seoul who escorted us to the gate and assured us that the plane would wait for us. And miraculously, our baggage tagged for short connection, did make it with us to JFK!"

Ưu: "I fly a lot of Asian airlines. This was my first time with KE. Overall, I'd say the food was OK, and I'm not particularly choosy. But the flight from Seoul to JFK was just beef and seafood and a Korean Rice Bowl. Pretty limited. If you're a veggie, I'd suggest putting in for a veggie meal."

Ưu: "Collectively, my new wife and I have travelled through dozens of different airlines, including 8-10 international flights, and our journey with Korean Air was the best flight experience we have ever had. The staff was so attentive, the selection of Korean music, and the access to movies, and the comfort of even Economy class was fantastic. Despite the long hours spent on board, Korean Air made it as comfortable as possible. We especially loved the hot towels, and the stickers that allowed the flight attendants to note if we wanted to be woken for meals, or left to sleep!"

Ưu: "The boarding went smoothly considering the number of people on board. It took a while to take off and to land, but that's because the airports are busy. The crew was incredibly well dressed in professional attire. The accommodations were amazing - the flight came with the standard pillow/blanket combo, disposable slippers, headphones, a toothbrush, two meals, a snack, drinks, and the attendants dimmed the lights whenever they weren't serving - all free. The entertainment was amazing - I watched four Hollywood movies that I had been wanting to watch, and that was one section of the movies. There were also TV series and music available, both in English and Korean."

Khuyết điểm: "I wasn't able to choose my seat on line and ended up in a window seat. With the seats in front of my row reclined all the way back, I could not get out of my seat to use the restroom. Having just transferred from Korean Airlines and taken other asian airlines on my trip, it's a hard comparison to a domestic airline, although Hawaiian is among one of the better domestics. On my food tray, there was a bowl of miso soup, that the attendant was trying to hand me, while there was turbulence. The bowl of miso was smiling all over the tray, and on my napkin, and since I was on the inside seat, almost spilled all over me. On a previous Korean airline fight, also with turbulence, the attendant had taken the bowl off the tray, and covered it with a saran, and then handed it to me to make sure it wouldn't spill all over me. There's a bit of difference there."

Khuyết điểm: "Let's start with the overrated leg space and seating comfort. It was cramped as with any other regular airline. Seats in the economy section are not comfortable and have no back support. These seats should have better cushions and back support. Our flight attendant had a bad attitude after we asked for wine and didn't offered us any beverages for at least two occasions. No warm towel either. She just skipped us like we were not there. The meals are just ok. Nothing remarkable. Then we stand in line for almost two hours after a 14.5 hours flight to get through immigration. The overall experience was not good at all and for that price the comfort and service should be much better."

Ưu: "I like that KE is lenient with the baggage allowance of 23kgs per piece that some can still go up to about 25kgs due to measurement system used (Metric vs. US). I also like that KE has bigger leg room even in the economy class."
Khuyết điểm: "I don't like the fact that KE charges the 3rd baggage (excess baggage) US$200 for only up to 23kgs. Anything beyond that is additional $100 for only up to 32kgs. another $100 beyond 32kgs. I will state for a fact that Cathay Pacific only charges US$150 for the 3rd baggage and is already up to 32kgs. Perhaps this is something KE would like to look into. In spite of Cathay Pacific's excess baggage rates, they have a smaller leg room in the economy class."
"There was a misunderstanding during check in that it was a mandatory requirement to make hotel reservations for quarantine without it you can’t board the airline.So we had to booked a hotel last minute and it was the wrong hotel since it’s not accredited by DOH Philippines. Since it was last minute we can’t get a refund or cancel the hotel. It was stressful and unnecessary hassle."

Khuyết điểm: "There were a lot of confusion w/ the flight delay. We we’re told we have to spend the night in Seoul waiting for a flight out the following day. No agent greets us at the gate to arrange for hotel stay. We we’re directed all over the place and no one knows anything about such arrangement. Finally we’re put on a plane to our destination. I was not informed of the change and only realized that when was brought to the gate and put on a plane. It should have better organized and needs agent at gate to answer question."

Ưu: "One of the crew members likes to rush passengers which was unnecessary. They need to give people time to get situated. First time I saw a crew member exhibit an impatient behavior. Even when she is serving she has that rush manner. Not good. Unprofessional! I wish I can remember her Korean name. I don’t think she likes her job. The other ladies were courteous except her! ( Seoul to Jfk NY trip)."
Khuyết điểm: "Food selection was very mediocre . The beef was hard to chew. The scrimp pasta had 3 pieces of tiny shrimp and all pasta. Will not recommended this airline or fly with this aircraft. Should have stayed with Cathay Pacific."

Ưu: "The crew and service (business class) were excellent: attentive, polite, and responsive. The food was good, but not quite up to the people (because they set such a high standard)."
Khuyết điểm: "The lie-flat seats in the A-350 from Hanoi to Seoul are much better than the seats on the aircraft used between Seoul and Honolulu (which I think was an A-330)."

Khuyết điểm: "I’m regarded as disabled, usually I have TSA pre-check privilege in most of the airline I took before but unfortunately, I couldn’t get any from Asiana. The guy helped me on checking in told me that AsIan’s didn’t provide this service to the customer. I felt not quite happy but ok with this. The one made me feel upset is they didn’t give me pre-boarding even though they already noticed that I’m disabled. I needed to wait on the line for over 25 minutes, my left leg very tired. I can walk but I can’t stand for long time, it hurts my back and leg. I got almost same style Vegetarian food in both dinner and breakfast, all vegetables, no tofu at all."

Khuyết điểm: "one check-in crew (female) at gate was not very nice. My mom is disabled & in her personal wheelchair. The other check-in crew members told us (5 total) to go together to board the plane then this female staff told us we can only have one family member go in with my mom (to take care of the wheelchair then assist her on the plane) next time we board the plane. Their messages are inconsistent & her attitude was uncalled for, especially when she let other disabled passengers on with their more than one family members & the other Asiana staff members told us to go in at the same time."

Khuyết điểm: "Food was sub par and I flew TO Manila on the flight - the discrepancy in the food quality was very different. Entertainment is dated and for such long flights very limited compared to competitors."
Khuyết điểm: "The food. Aused from the serving size, only 2 meal and 1 small snack served for the whole 12 hr flight. Got my gastric pain acting up. FA wasn't also very pleasant. Toiletries wasn't replace when they ran out especially d papers for seat covers."

Khuyết điểm: "Due to weather we missed connecting flight. Just Fly and Asiana Air would not help us with switching flights. They said the other flights the next day had ‘wait lists’ and said it’s best we just cancel the trip. After doing so, we saw both flights out the next day with ‘wait lists’ online for purchase at an extremely high rate. Never booking through them again."

Khuyết điểm: "i did not like that i was seated next to someone with a pet dog that never stops barking. I hardly slept and the dog smell is very unpleasant I lost my appetite."

Khuyết điểm: "1) The ground staff in SEA never said a single 'please' or 'thank you', let alone any eye contact or even a mere 'you're welcome' in response to my expressions of thanks; I was made to thoroughly feel like a mere transaction. Clearly, Asiana severely needs basic manner- training for its staff. We departed 1 hour later than scheduled, despite a short connection, which they, themselves, scheduled into this flight! ..."
Ưu: "The service was top-notch, and so was the food. On my flight from San Francisco to Korea, things were just fine, Though I wish I had the window seat that was actually adjacent to the window, and not separated from the window by a desk/table arrangement. Aside from that, everything was grand."
Khuyết điểm: "The flight from Korea to Bangkok was a different story. The seats resembled those you would find in premium economy on other airlines. While the food and service were good, the entertainment was abysmal. Basically, you were watching TV with poor quality reception and no ability to choose what you wanted to watch other than flipping through the channels to see what was already on. Although this was nearly a seven hour international flight, The entertainment package felt like something you would encounter on a cheap charter bus to Vegas. If I knew this was the aircraft I would be taking, I would never have booked on Asiana. The flight to Bangkok was really substandard."
Ưu: "When checking in, the agent upgraded me to an exit row for free, which Asiana sells as a "preferred" seat. The legroom was phenomenal and the seat next to me remained empty. I was in the first row of the economy cabin, so I was the first to get served during the meal time and the first to have the trash collected. The seat was comfortable and had ample padding, even though the armrests could not move due to being in the exit row."

Myself and a few other passengers just waited around the gate area until final call and then boarded, avoiding having to stand in the line that stretched to the next gate. The aircraft was an non-refurbished A330, featuring the old TV screens that showed entertainment in a loop. Good enough for a 2 hour flight, but any longer and AVOD would have been nice. Flight was delayed for 1 hour, we landed 1 hour late, but I still had enough time to make my connection."

The food was terrible, and the seats were not made for long flights. I really felt the "economy" vibe. Overall, I will still consider flying this airline for any emergency flight back to the US, but if there will be a compeittive airline, maybe i'd try another. Their business class seem enticing.. maybe comsoder it too."

May 31 Wednesday at 12:20 AM indicated in the ticket is actually one day before May 31; i.e., the passenger should be 3 hours before the flight on May 30 Tuesday around midnight. I clarified with Webjet (India) representative who explained that I go to the airport on Wednesday. Asiana should have used military time; thus 12:20am should be 00:20 Hr. to avoid confusion. Asiana penalty for "no show" was USD511 and earliest available flight was 4 days after May 31. I took another airline to go to Manila. I missed my hotel and all other appointments because of the misleading Asiana flight information. It was a big mess for me!!!"

She wanted me near her for assistance. We were told there the business seats were full with the Seoul Hanoi flights. There was no adjustment for the economy price on those legs of the flights. When we got to Seoul, the whole business area was empty. We were informed by the staff no seating adjustment could be made. A form was completed in regards to the inability to make adjustments. My niece, Julie Cowling, emailed Asiana the day we arrived in Vietnam, the day before we left to return home she recieved a reply. She checked with the ticket counter in Hanoi, prior to our departure, they were unable to make adjustments. There were seats available. This was very frustrating. Routinely airlines can make the seating adjustments."

Khuyết điểm: "The check-in line was about an hour long. There were way too few people at the counters for a very large plane. I pre-weighed my bags on scales that weren't being used and moved things around. The really stressful part was my carry on bag. It was overweight and transferred things to my handbag and into my suitcases as much as I could. The only things in my carry on were my laptop and medication. It was still 2 kilos overweight. I appealed to the manager who said I had to check it. Checking a bag with my medication would be dangerous to my health and we know they wouldn't reimburse me for the theft of my laptop. The manager, Yeonju Lee (first name may be spelled incorrectly) was completely inflexible and devoid of compassion as was the check in agent. They said the restriction was due to security measures, which is a lie. I've traveled all over the world with carry on over 20 pounds and there has never been a problem. They said I had to correct the problem in 7 minutes or I would not be allowed on the plane. Ultimately, I almost missed the flight. I had to ask people in the security line if I could go ahead of them. If I can avoid it, I will never fly Asiana again. The seats are hard as rocks which is difficult for a 14 hour flight."

I called their help desk when I couldn't access my reservation. My problem is their systems push your first and middle names together as a first name in their systems so I couldn't access my reservation. I really, really struggled understanding the person on their help desk. Then 48 hours before my flight I tried to book my seats and get my boarding pass. There were no seats for a party of 3 traveling together and only middle seats for the 3 of us. I waited for 20 minutes calling their support center. Of course their team could not help. All seats were booked. Luckily she offered to book my seats for the return and we managed to get the last 3 together in the back of the plane. If you book through Kayak recommend immediately calling to book seat numbers. I have ran out of room but returning from Vancouver their systems didn't read American passports and everyone tried to get tickets issued the staff at the desk laughed when told and said they knew it was a problem....but it did keep the many skiers busy in the self service line:) Also the desk opens 2hours and 59 minutes before departure so don't arrive early"

We will never take this option again"

We were shocked as crew was so organized getting us (people) to connecting flight in Hong Kong. Woman met us at gate and personally led us to connection gate. Only a few gates down in same terminal. In case you're curious: not that we expect Michelin star dining, but the food is dismal. Some of the worst airline food ever. It's like pure sodium + tastes very much like the aluminum can it surely came out of."

I get a wheelchair assist (elderly woman with some mobility issues). The service person who brought me to the gate never showed up again to help with the boarding. Instead (??), the airline had me boarding LAST (most airlines have had me board among the first), and then sitting at an aisle seat (most airlines have me at a window). They asked me to wait to deboard until all passengers were off - that is standard. But because I was sitting on the aisle I had to get up and wait standing while the two other passengers on the row got out, and then go back to be seated. Very awkward"

Everybody went like crazy through the airport terminal looking for a Gate that does not exist. Followed by a counter-announcement. And then being bussed to the aircraft. People came on board up to the last minute... Arrival in SGN crazy for a different reason. All 300-some passengers were bussed again. Just that the ladders were not ready, and then whoever drove could not adjust them, and then the busses were not ready either. 25 minutes from landing to the luggage belts. Vietnamese airports need to work on their their procedures."
Ưu: "Vietnam Airlines has good leg room on both international and domestic flights. Blankets and pillows were preplaced on seats, as were headphones in the seat pockets. Lunch and one round of snacks were served. Beverages were offered a few times."

Some passengers complained about being hot, but flight attendant only pointed out the overhead gasper vents, which were obviously open but did little to help the sweating and general discomfort. No personal entertainment system, only drop down screens. Food was average."

Cons: workers know little English compared to ANA from checking in to the flight attendants. I think this was the most disappointing because the language barrier was frustrating when needing help going the right direction and having questions about checking in. The food was OK. The fruit tasted rotten and the food didn't seem as fresh either. The customer service was also mediocre. When I was on ANA airlines all the staff were very helpful and they seemed statisfied with their jobs. When I travel to ASIA again I will try and avoid Vietnam airlines."

Ưu: "On its Airbus A 350 Vietnam Airlines recently introduced a new arrangement for the Premium Economy Section. This is the only aircraft used on the SGN-CDG line. Before they had a lay-out of 3-3-3 seats across, strictly identical with the Economy section. It is now 2-4-2, giving some more space to sit comfortably. All seats have now a fixed separation, with the possibility of placing a glass or other small objects on top of it; they look like a smaller version of the old Business Class seats. In the first row the design of the fold-up screens has been improved. Previously some invaded the personal space of the neighbour, as I had experienced last October (my knee still remembers it). Well done. Prem Economy is worth the difference in pricing."

Most of it was sent back as waste, because so many passengers (e.g. French) are accustomed to a minimalist continental breakfast. All this lavishness has disappeared now. While I understand the reason why, I wonder why they also eliminated the small portion of jam or jelly. Only butter is available to spread (spread?) on the tiny bun. It would be a nice touch to have also some jelly. Also during the night shift they used to offer some nice sandwiches to sleepless passengers. Now only pots of instant noodles are offered on demand. These pots are not well adapted for European passengers."
