Best experience yet in BC
Movie selections very poor. Lots of talk about social distancing before boarding and then in economy class we are packed in like sardines.
Excellent except for food
Ticket flight selling should more detail at each a few countries when transit to Vietnam Ho Chi City. Unfortunately, I could not take this flight which was July 22 because i have to transfer airport in Japan. So that, I had to pay another ticket one way to Vietnam and in difference day.
Crew is personal, friendly, efficient and helpful. Together they made the ride even more enjoyable. A+++
Easy flight boarded late but they made up the time

The number of flights available from the west coast US to southeast Asia has been severely reduced to the covid pandemic so flyers do not have all the options as in the past. So I reluctantly flew on JAL despite all the negative reviews [Spoiler: the reviews were correct]. Although I was pleased with the efficiency of the flight, the sincerity of the crew, and the high quality meals, the substandard business class accommodations made the whole flight uncomfortable. The chair was small, cramped, lumpy, and offered little privacy. It by no means compares to business class on China Eastern or Singapore Airlines -- the groups I usually fly. JAL will need to significantly upgrade business class if I consider this flight in the future.

Ưu: "The crew is outstanding. A girl two seats away from me barfed and two attendants were there immediately with a bag, cleaning wipes, etc. They are very friendly and patient with passengers. The next best part was the comfort. I got a good amount of sleep on my nine-hour flight."

Instead, i am tortured like a yawn that wont come out, a mosquito in the dark, an itch that runs away from my fingers ... out of reach and just inaccessible. 12 hours of wishing so that by the time i reach my final destination, I've been awake over 24 hours. Im getting too old for that."

Ưu: "The food is good. The seats for regular economy are a bit more spacious. They also have some deal with fast food restaurants, Mos Burger and Yoshinoya so sometimes you can get their air version of the fast-food meals. I had Yoshinoya and it was pretty good. The entertainment was okay, the only 2 things I wanted to watch was John Wick 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but the movies change every month so it was probably a bad batch. Also free toothbrushes and toothpaste available on the plane and a self service snack area. Overall it was great."
Ưu: "The stewardess of the flight from LA to Osaka was awesome , I don't remember her exactly name , I think she is older then other crew members working that day on economy class . She was very professional , serving customer with the best she can. Always smiles. I feel good whenever I see her walks by, smile and very professional When the meal was serve but they only had one dish to choose instead of two ( I guess that day Chicken Masala dish was high on demand so there are only Japanese dish left) she said we are so sorry with a very sincere gesture , I chose Japanese food because I like Japanese food anyway , she politely thanks me for my choice and later bring a bag of small mix snack for me and said thank you for being flexible . Later on, when we getting off the airplane she even helped me to stroll my carry on out to the airplane because I was carry too many stuffs with me and my daughter being so tired of the long flight so I have to comforted my daughter . The stewardess saw that and helping me a hand . I wish every airlines has someone like this crew member . Thank you so much for the awesome service on Japan Airlines."

Also, not enough knee space, especially when the person in front of you puts there seat back. I flew with American Airlines on the way to Japan and I had plenty of room but I wish it was the same coming home."

The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

Boarding process experience can be improve with better sign for the queing lines and have boarding crew station at end of every quing lines to make sure all passengers are queing in the correct line."

My suggestion is that instructions in Vietnamese should be made more often to avoid chaos particularly when deplane."

The flight flew off course for almost 30 minutes, while the flight attendants required everyone to remain seated due to supposed turbulence. We felt no turbulence for almost 25 mins. No update was given to passengers while we flew far off course. I motioned to the flight attendant, who was seated due to turbulence warning, to ask why we were off-course, but she could not get up. Many passengers were pointing to the flight path animation, to point out that we were flying straight north, instead of southeast. The flight attendant then called the captain for an update, and then the captain finally made an announcement about weather delays around shanghai."
Boarding needs to be managed properly
The only thing that really bothered me was an obnoxiously loud and annoying child sitting next to her father, who had headsets on and made no attempt to discipline the child. I thought maybe the staff should have said something to him in a polite manner
I had a horrible experience booking tickets in kayak. Got cancelled the last minute and had to give a hefty price. No customer support as well.

NOT GOOD"

Never go to miami plane arrived late passport control took over 4 hrs so missed the flight to Boston then got a flight from miami to London had to pay over a £500 for a night stay in airport hotel then the messed up checking in the the baggage not happy at all going to make a claim
The flights were great and everything worked together well!
AA did horrible with the checking in. I was late my flight even though I got there 2 hours before my flight. There were bunches of people waiting in the line to check in and only had 2 agents at that time. More than half people in line couldn’t fly that day because the flight always took off before we checked in
I had a malfunctioning chair that kept automatically going from recline to fully erect and the footrest next quite functioned properly.
The crew was great. Seating is cramped and too small.
Flight cancelled and no other flights available till afternoon next day
Columbia has a small airport with very crowded terminal. Plane’s WiFi was not working so NO entertainment. Sad excuse for an American flight. At least it was quick.
The first-class flight attendant from LIT to Mia was very professional and a nice older experience attedent .

When it was finally resolved the flight was gone and all they could say was sorry and said they would refund the money. They would not accomodate us or try to get us on another flight until they day of the returning flight. Unfortunately because of this my father missed seeing his friends and family who he has not seen in over 40 years for a reunion. We never received notification that anything was wrong with the flight and we were given the run around for 2 hours until they realized it was their fault and we missed the flight. Then they just offered a refund. In my opinion they were overbooked and did this on purpose, because it could have been resolved in minutes. I am disappointed with all parties involved including Kayak because of not notifying us of a problem. Thanks for ruining possibly the last time my father would be able to see his family and friends."

The flight was also pretty turbulent- which is usually worse in the back of the plane."

I liked that we landed safely on time. That’s all I ask for.

The forecast did not include any bad weather, and the apparent reason for the cancellation was excess capacity on routes to non-Newark United hubs from Norfolk. United refused to accommodate us on a comparable flight on another airline, and Delta offered a direct flight for less money than we originally paid United. United alienated a previously loyal United customer."

The plane was late inbound, had a minor mechanical issue, and on top of that we were at a remote gate so they had to bus everyone to plane. After all that, we sat on the tarmac even longer because of “traffic”. Our takeoff clearance had expired and we were behind a bunch of planes. After landing in Chicago, we waited an additional 30 minutes because our gate was occupied."

I told her we'd put the purse in the bag but for some reason she demanded we check in our carry on. And we saw two women right in front of us with "3" bags... That meant an additional 30 minutes at bag check while our ride circled the airport. The was the last of 4 flights, and it was the only time anyone made this an issue."

Imagine our surprise when we found out it was a United Flight. We were on the plane for almost 11 hours and we just had a small lunch and a snack that was tiny. We were starving when we got off. Next time, British Airways gets my money. I want to know what airline I am paying for all the way through without the switching shenanigans."

When we did arrive just under the wire, our seats were changed at the front gate, even though we had assigned seats and checked in 24 hours before. Poor situation."

She was flying alone and should have received top priority and been one of the first called up to figure out how to get her to her destination. But that did not happen. She didn't know what to do at first then got in the long line of people and waited her turn. ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT HER ONLY OPTION WAS TO FLY OUT ON A LATER FLIGHT TO HOUSTON WHICH WOULD MAKE HER MISS HER CONNECTING FLIGHT ANT THEN STAY THE NIGHT ALONE IN HOUSTON AND WAIT THE ENTIRE NEXT DAY THERE UNTIL 9 THE NEXT NIGHT TO CATCH HER FINAL FLIGHT TO SALT LAKE CITY. I cannot even explain how angry and horrified I was that your airline thought that was acceptable for an unaccompanied minor! Clearly this one option that was offered to her by you was not accepted. Then she calls and a guy tells her he can get her there and is going to book her new flights.....only to get disconnected and never called her back. After that there was no one to be found at the desks for your airline. At this point I had driven back to the airport (spent hours driving and waiting) when a wonderful lady from a different airline helped my daughter out and got her on a different airline. However she had to check her bag due to her seating after all the hard work she put in to not checking her bag."

I specifically asked on the phone to be moved to an American Airlines flight later that day, and was told that flight would be cancelled. Drove to the airport because I didn't understand how both the flights were cancelled with perfect weather in the departure and destination cities. The people at the airport moved us to the American flight that I was previously told was cancelled. Would have been much easier to do over the phone, but I was lied to on the phone."
