Service was really good. Boarding process and deplaning left a lot to be desired. Over 1 hour to get to immigration from plane.

Due to fog in Brisbane, the flight was diverted to Gold Coast. After arriving in Gold Coast we had to take a bus to Brisbane. It's kind of a long story, but basically I will say it was handled well for the most part my China airlines. Certainly, fog was not there fault and they did everything they could to accommodate passengers, including putting us up in two very nice hotels."

Nobody was there to tell us whether we should collect our luggage, how to get an appropriate visa to enter Australia, where to go to get on the bus (or even if we SHOULD get on the bus). Maintenance issues delayed flight
AA did horrible with the checking in. I was late my flight even though I got there 2 hours before my flight. There were bunches of people waiting in the line to check in and only had 2 agents at that time. More than half people in line couldn’t fly that day because the flight always took off before we checked in

Flight crew did not check seatbelts prior to takeoff in the forward section of coach. At least one seatbelt remained unsecured and one child had a backpack on his lap during takeoff. Very unprofessional crew. Credit card promotions over the PA system were very annoying and unintelligible."

After almost 24 hours of travel, we arrived but without all of our stuff."

The bathroom too is so small that you cannot move in it. It’s so uncomfortable. The new boarding process is just dumb. And to make matters worse they don’t even bother to check the boarding groups when you board. I had a person in a later boarding group in front of me and they let her on anyway — so what’s the point of having boarding groups. They should just go back to boarding from the rear of the plane first - that is the most efficient and quick way to do it. The so called entertainment is a joke. There is a very small choice of movies/TV shows to watch and that’s it. The free wi-fi gets you nowhere."

There was some kind of extra security feature where they wanted to check our boarding passes - which is fine! however, the way the boarding crew handled those operations was embarrassing. Basically no organization of the lines, and when it was time to board, they could not handle the organization of people that had already been checked security wise (and ready to board) - and people that weren't security checked. For instance, I had my boarding pass ready (had already been security checked) and was ready to board. But there was no indication as to which line to get into, so when I asked, I was demeaned - and told to go to "zone 3! You are boarding group 3!" There was no way to know where this was, and just before (when I was getting security checked on my boarding pass) the woman told me to "just stay in the line that I was in - because boarding would take place soon". There was no way to know which lines were zone 1, 2, 3, or still checking boarding passes for security reasons. Once my zone 3 line reached the point to get scanned to board, eventually people had also been in the wrong line and were ready to board, so 4 lines of people who were just as confused as I was, started to merge. This is going slowly of course, people in zone 1 (who thought they were in the zone 1 line but instead were still stuck in the boarding pass security line) were upset because zone 3 was boarding and they weren't - and this is while the staff is getting angry at people NOT boarding - because they are stuck in these other lines. It was quite disorganized and I think the staff could have handled the entire process better. Not sure if I ordered the wrong option but food could have used an upgrade."

The crew identified something in inspection that gave them a little concern, so they called maintenance to come and check it out to ensure we were safe to fly (which I very much appreciate). The issue I have is that over an hour passed (after the flight was supposed to leave), with them giving periodic updates that they had called maintenance and were waiting for them. Finally I asked the people at the counter, who were visibly embarrassed, where maintenance was coming from (this is an airport - shouldn't they have it onsite), and they conceded that maintenance was at the airport, but they had no idea where they were. This delay resulted in me missing my connection in Denver, which caused me to miss the meeting and the whole reason I was flying back to Dallas a day early for. I essentially paid over $400 for an extra ticket (I had to not use my one on Friday - because it was just cheaper to buy a separate one way ticket). I will never fly United again."

Landing was very rough, came in too fast and hit the breaks so hard I thought I was going to end up in the back of the seat in front of me."

The owner also walked the dog over to a couple to visit, and the couple had a large cat in a carrier. The dog owner did not see the cat in the carrier for a few minutes. Then, when she did realized it she did not move away. You could see that the dog noticed the cat and was getting excited, and proceeded to bark. I don't know why she didn't back away when she noticed the cat. On board, the dog, still on a leash, didn't stay under her feet. The owner did not hang on to the leash."
