Everything was excellent. Nice legroom, wonderful food for Asian Vegetarian. For entertainment, I wish there was some South Indian options. Another minor thing for the connection flight from Bangkok to Ko Samai, my meal preference didn’t carry over and they provided only non-vegetarian food which I could not eat because I am a vegetarian.
Our original ticketed dates were canceled and we were rebooked for a day later at the start and end of our trip without ever being notified. Waited on hold over an hour 4 separate times for assistance from Japan air, since kayak and chatdeal refused to help. Japan air never answered and kayak would only offer to rebook us if we paid a $2000+ Difference in cost. Absolutely horrid overall experience. The Japan airlines flight crew was excellent, but we’re now departing and arriving on dates we did not choose.
It was good, better than most US airlines.

I had to sit in the airport for 3 1/2 hours to get my ticket changed. Unbelievable. They could’ve chiseled it in stone faster than they issued it."

With most passengers coming far from the airport, it will be very very helpful if the counter, even at least one counter, would open earlier, so that passengers who came in early could check in early and wait comfortably in the departure area."

Sorry the review I just posted was for this flight which was the long haul flight. The planes were nice and that’s about it. No 2 full service meals, only a little tiny vegetable wrap an hour into the flight. Nothing else until the last 2 hours which was the only meal served. Terrible at that. Also no amenity kits were given. Not even a toothbrush. No snacks or nuts in between. Just an awful experience with a mediocre crew. Very disappointed in this supposed 5 star airline according to Skytrax.
I will choose ANA again. Excellent Service

Compared to Eva Air and JAL Asiana food is pretty mediocre. Snacks between meals are almost nonexistent. Wish they had cups of noodles or some mixed nuts.

I was so relieved since this trip was 3 weeks with 3 50lbs luggage and 2 10 lb backpacks. I imagined going to Japanese Immigration again and explaining the reason for the entry. Because of this our layover is seamless. Star Alliance made it so easy for us to take their airlines anytime. Kudos to Star Alliance. Oh, the legroom is roomy for Economy! Nothing can compare with their airbus. I am only 5foot1inch and its like having a lounging chair. My husband whose 5’10” is happy with the space. Thanks for thinking of your passengers!"

While the food and service were good, the entertainment was abysmal. Basically, you were watching TV with poor quality reception and no ability to choose what you wanted to watch other than flipping through the channels to see what was already on. Although this was nearly a seven hour international flight, The entertainment package felt like something you would encounter on a cheap charter bus to Vegas. If I knew this was the aircraft I would be taking, I would never have booked on Asiana. The flight to Bangkok was really substandard."

Second, lay over from 2 1/2 hrs. became 5 1/2 hr. After all the wait, we did not even get the change the seats. I did not expect this form Asiana. This was very disappointing."

She wanted me near her for assistance. We were told there the business seats were full with the Seoul Hanoi flights. There was no adjustment for the economy price on those legs of the flights. When we got to Seoul, the whole business area was empty. We were informed by the staff no seating adjustment could be made. A form was completed in regards to the inability to make adjustments. My niece, Julie Cowling, emailed Asiana the day we arrived in Vietnam, the day before we left to return home she recieved a reply. She checked with the ticket counter in Hanoi, prior to our departure, they were unable to make adjustments. There were seats available. This was very frustrating. Routinely airlines can make the seating adjustments."

We were in Thailand when Bali's Mount Agung erupted and called Cathay Pacific requesting our fees be waived to change our return flight from Denpasar, Hong Kong, Newark to Bangkok-Hong Kong-Newark. Cathay Pacific said the fee to change our flight is $350, and plus the difference in the new ticket price. That option was very expensive. We were very stressed about returning to Bali due to the High Alert warnings. The Denpasar Airport was closed for days -- and our request was not unreasonable."

Seriously, you can't afford to give a glass of water , it's not like she was asking for coffee or some soft drink, its water ...and when we flew Korean and EVA airlines, they had a small bottle of water available on the seat when we boarded. Then my next row family asked for coffee and after a few minutes the fellow passengers wife decided to have some tea. So the husband called in the hostess and the hostess very rudely said , now you want both coffee and team , next time please let me know at the same time. Then when they served me my special meal, there was no butter in the meal tray, so I patiently waited for them to serve others and when they reached my row, I very nicely asked if I may have some butter...the hostess said, we don't have any butter. I was like...speechless. No butter, no water...and Cathay is a top class airline , HOW is it possible ? And the other crew was ok, this was one crew member a female and her name started from J , don't remember her full name. She was the laziest ever crew member I have ever seen and I am pretty sure she did not like her job. Cathay did not provide any tooth brush or mouth wash. No socks, slippers , eye patch...nothing. While flying to HKG from Toronto, I did not opt for special meal and the meal was just HORRIBLE. It was some beef and I couldn't even cut it with a knife. I think Korean Air is more or less the same as Cathay but in my opinion Korean is much better than Cathay. Cathay is only good for Business/First class. I seriously recommend EVA airlines and if not then Korean but if you are flying economy then stay away from Cathay."

There were MULTIPLE sick people on board the flight and I had two seats but the second person didn’t show. When boarding, someone was in my seat so I moved a row back (no biggie)- but his friend was disgustingly sick (which made sense why he moved to my seat instead of sitting next to him.) I decided to move to the row on the immediate other side away from his germs and the attendant was being a little funny about me moving seats saying on her chart no one was supposed to be there- which caused a Karen attendant to come over and make an even bigger deal- asking me where I’m supposed to be sitting. There were at least 8 open seats in the back and being I paid for TWO- I can move close to the seat I originally paid for being there was a detrimentally SICK gentleman in front of me coughing and sneezing and sniffling. So I had to wear 3 masks and I put my blanket over my head. Very comfortable compared to a moved seat.

I’ve never seen anything worse. I could go on and on."
