The flights were delayed by a few minutes, which led to me stressing to make it on time to my flights, and I felt dehydrated and nauseous. Also the website doesn’t specify that we will have to purchase meals either before hand or on board, and that the airlines only took cash and no credit card. It was miserable, a whole 20+ hour flight with lots of stress of catching my flight, checking and the checking my baggage, and being hungry and thirsty because I didn’t carry enough cash on me."

All CBP booths were closed, but 8 (eight!) employees, who normally direct arriving passengers to the kiosk-machines where hanging out in two groups sharing private stories and having laughs instead of at least informing passengers, what was going on. Lots of passengers where outraged...a couple in their mid 70s in front of us had to sit down on the floor, since they had circulation problems from standing in line so long. Sadly, JFK isn't what it used to be anymore."

The booker should be obliged, when one enters the passport information upon purchasing the ticket, to make note if the passport expiration time is not valid for the flight. Spent $600+ on the flight, and the customer service person I spoke to from the airport was very abrasive and not interested in helping me figure out an alternative."

I understand that every passenger should be responsible enough to clean up after themselves, but it was not an enjoyable experience. Also I think there was something wrong with my seat because it didnt "lay flat" all the way."

They also serve food once and you don't get a snack or anything--you don't even see the attendants--for another 10 hours. Then they serve breakfast close to an hour before landing. The crew is constantly telling you to sit as if you weren't allowed to use the toilet at all when the seatbelt sign is on--and it's on the whole time. So you have to be asking permission to use the toilet when you are right next to the toilet door and about to go in because they don't allow you to use it. That's not healthy for someone to hold it."

There is not enough room to even reach down to pick something up if you drop it. Overhead lockers are full. I think planes either need to be redesigned with sleeping compartments (such as the second class compartments the trains have) for overnight flights or seats need to be slightly larger to make up for the fact most people are larger today."

The non vegetarians got a full plate of croissant, cheese, fruit and jams. When I asked for butter I got no response. I asked three times before I could get some butter as I do not eat margarine. Lunch was wilted and slimy lettuce and tired fruit for dessert. The main meal itself was delicious but I was hungry the whole flight due to the small helping.. Another small but slightly fresher role and margarine again. Next to the non vegetarian meal there was less than half the food. It was very disappointing."

The lack of communication and information was appalling. Most people eventually found their way through the airport to a desk that booked them on a flight the next day. It was exhausting and the Turkish staff were unsympathetic."

My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Ưu: "I like the food in the air craft it was good, but the crew seemed not wanting to speak inglish The are more willing to serve turkish speakers, They were not even able to solve seat problem. that I and my next seat guy decided to solve the issue by offering our seats to them so that they can sit together, the crew spoke poor english and we were held up by that seat problem, ask that crew member they will tell you what happend, After we gave up our saets to random girls who were also angry about turkish airline, we were able to take off for nairobi And yes the coffee store by the cafe nero and nearly all business refused to give us a wifi And turkish airport offers wifi to only those who have a turkish phone number that is so very low Shame on turkish airline for treating us the give us a free rides we are their bussiness and we will make sure that we stop giving our bussness It looks like they took their customers for granted and we will just tollered it but I will not and many people whom I know will not It is simply desaster... 0% service from the time you come to the airport untill boading time I had to ask about 5 deffrent men to tell me if where I was terminal. One but none of them know what i was saying And at the time my flight was sopposed leave 7:50 so I was freaking out And no one helping at that crtical moment I finaly got the delay flight info after running somany times up and down the road"

Exaggerations occur sometimes when people are inconvenienced so I checked my call logs and social media accounts and found I completed multiple phone calls and status updates from New York over and hour after Turkish airlines tells me I left. One of us is lying and at this point I'm inclined to agree with facebook that I was still in JFK airport an hour after my flight was scheduled to leave when I updated my status to gripe about the delays."

The first ground crew member I asked was abrupt and sent me to the back of the long line. I caught the attention of a different crew member and he motioned me to the front of the line--it was a little awkward saying "excuse me" to each person that I passed. (I am not used to being a priority passenger!) Once my documents were cleared and my carry-on was inspected at the gate, it was not clear whether to take a seat or to go somewhere else."

I wouldn't have minded at all but my seat and the one next to it didnt recline anywhere near as much as every other seat in the whole airplane. It was really uncomfortable for me and the person who was seating next to me. Hopefully this will be the last time i get stuck in that kind of seat."

Khuyết điểm: "I've flown Turkish a few times before, and they're generally pretty good for the price. This trip was different. Despite Turkish Airlines policies outlined in their "Customer Rights," I received no notification that the flight was delayed 3 hours, and there was no notification at the JoBurg airport until you go to the counter to check in. JoBurg staff - which are Menzies third-party contractors, not Turkish staff - were disorganized, uncommunicative, and unhelpful. Only one person at the check in desk seemed to have authorization to make any changes, so all other agents were running back and forth to speak with him, and not communicating with passengers. It took over an hour to get clarity on the situation and rebook my connecting flight to Washington for a different flight 8 hours later. The only compensation offered was one meal voucher worth R100 (roughly $7). They would not even look at other Star Alliance flights for early arrival in Washington, and said they were not authorized to consider upgrading my ticket. When I called the Turkish customer service, they essentially said "What do you want us to do about it? You have to submit a formal complaint." Boarding was totally disorganized. In theory there are boarding groups, but after business class and all the high-ranking loyalty members, it's pretty much a mad rush. This seems to be the common practice for Turkish now. In general, Turkish has a great entertainment system on all their long-haul flights, with tons of movies - including very new releases - music, games, etc. They also provide complimentary kits with socks, slippers, eye mask, earplugs and dental kit, even for economy passengers. The meals are fairly good for airlines. However, legroom in economy isn't great. I'm 6'1", and had difficulty getting comfortable with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front of me. On this particular flight, I was in row 18. The cabin crew were frantic, disorganized, and shouting to each other across passengers. One half of our row was served the meal, and the other half had to wait over 30 minutes to be served for some reason. By that time the vegetarian option was no longer available. Crew also had to run back and forth between service carts because they were frequently out of very common beverages (like sparkling water. And ice.), and on two occasions crew left a drawer from a cart full of trash sitting in the aisle. There were several times that crew ran carts into passengers - including once into my knee that was not in the aisle - and didn't even acknowledge doing so. They also stopped the carts in front of occupied lavatories, temporarily trapping passengers. So not terribly professional. While not specifically on this flight, the experience in Istanbul airport with Turkish Airlines' staff was awful. Zero interest in helping, rude and dismissive, and overall terrible."

As a foreigner to be handed a stack of vouchers without direction on where to go for transportation wasn’t satisfactory."

MH609 was delayed from 2305 till 0030, all passengers board the flight and we were told to alight again due to technical faulty. Switch to another flight and delayed till 0230. By the time we arrived in Singapore, it is almost 0340. Collected the luggages, clear custom and arrived home is almost 0500. There was absolutely no refreshment provided in between, and have to switch between gates which are far apart."
