Thanks to ANA's staff both on the ground and in the air, everything went very smoothly. When we arrived at Haneda Airport (around 1:30pm), we went to the Special Assistance counter to get a stroller. The staff was friendly and patient, and didn't rush us at all. (It took a little while to get our things in order.) I was surprised to learn that we could check in from there, drop off our checked luggage and receive boarding passes, as well as an airport stroller. In addition, the boy who was awake at the time received an ANA airplane clip. We didn't get to the gate in time for pre-boarding. I was dismayed to find out that we'd have to take a bus to the aircraft. We had the maximum number of carry-on bags, plus two babies, only one of whom was in a carrier, and we learned that the stroller couldn't go on the bus. A gate agent brought our carry-ons onto the bus. She found priority seats for us and a place nearby to fit a bag that couldn't fit on one of our laps. On board, the cabin attendants were attentive and friendly, and gave toys to the boys. When we arrived at Hagi-Iwami Airport, two of them even carried all of our carry-on bags off the plane for us. (They also helped with our carry-on luggage upon returning to Tokyo. In fact, we had forgotten to reserve a stroller for when we deplaned, and a flight attendant tried to find one near the gate, to no avail.) When I think about all the positive experiences we had in a span of about three and a half hours, I am amazed at all the different people who helped to make our journey easier. I cannot imagine it happening in my home country or on most airlines I have flown."

When entering the gate (with security machines turned off keeping in mind everyone has already passed general airport security and is only trying to enter the gate. Staff would direct passengers towards an attempt at creating a boarding queue. Once passing the gate doors and walking towards the queue directed by staff, it seemed to be a normal occurance to have another staff memeber shout at you and redirect you another way. Getting scolded by gate employees and requested to remove all electronics turn them on and being requested to remove most clothing items at the gate while everyone is watching with security machines off while only selecting a few passengers seems to be a regular occurnace in Doha & with Qatar Airways. People standing all around, no queues were initiated by staff, instead staff would push through passengers to get to the front instead of propretly annoucing the boarding through an intercom. No matter how loud staff was screaming their sounds were drowned out by the passengers which turned boarding a full translatlantic flight into a chaotic scene. Once on the flight I noticed the headphones provided were broken, I politely requested a new pair...from 3 different employees...which took over 20 mins to replaced. Qatar Airways prides itself on quality unfortunately as an economy passenger I have yet to experience any of that other than when it comes to good on flight entertainment."

Went to Delta's website, entered my ticket number and card number but I was not in the system as I was given all WestJet info (not Delta's). Luckily the baggage check in people figured it all out."

Khuyết điểm: "the 2 stewardesses disappeared as soon as the flight was in the air. i upgraded to business class in what was a huge waste of money. the fact that they do not make alcohol available in business class is pure laziness, and these people are loving it. keep in mind that you can have water juice and pop. i was given the water i asked for after take off, and then she promptly disappeared for the entire 3 hours. she only returned when i pushed the call button. not good."

Khuyết điểm: "Our flight was delayed 3 times; from 10:40pm to 12:55am to 1:25am because “the copilot was late on his flight from Chicago.” When another American flight arrived around midnight and their copilot offered to step in (he had not exceeded his flying hours), he was refused by management. Exhausted passengers were extremely angry. Each time the flight was delayed, the gate agents waited until the “Boarding in...” status screen reached 0 before announcing the next delay. Not cool."

The overhead reading lights flashed on and off periodically making me a bit concerned about the electricals. Our main piece of luggage was sent on a different flight. It took us over an hour to locate that had happened. We waited at the distribution point. We got one Piecebut not the other. After all we’re taken from the belt we went in search and found it."

And considering there were no seat-back entertainment units, we had to use our phones, which ran out of power midway through the flight ... and again, no way to charge. Why not use this plane for short routes and use the better equipment for long flights between big hubs like this one was?"

Was forced to buy a premium seat when I realized the seating chart did not appear when I purchased the tickets. Also, flight was three hours late upon arrival. I understand safety is paramount and am grateful we eventually were able to find another plane, but it begs to speculate if things would have been smoother on a BA plane."

When it was pretty much dumped in front of me at LHR with an unspecified apology, the sun hood was bent so it doesn't fold right anymore, there's scuff marks on the side, there's a part missing from the left wheel and it drags to one side now. Not happy. If I'd been told, we'll take this off you and damage it, I might have checked it normally. Our car seat was fine."

Khuyết điểm: "The woman in front of me pushed her seat all the way back. The people behind me were from Africa, and they talked really loudly. They didn't need to yell. Finally, why does American Airlines load the plane with the people who sit at the front first? It makes NO SENSE. Put the people who sit in the back on first. That way, you don't have to try to get past people in the front who are still trying to load their stuff or get seated. There has got to be a more efficient way of getting off the plane. We stood and stood waiting for passengers to get their stuff and disembark."

I was seated at the front of the plane and my fiancé was at the back. Luckily a nice gentleman switched seats with me and we were able to sit together but it was the last seats that did not recline on an 8 hour flight. We will never fly American again. Their customer service offered no help and was extremely rude to us."

Courteous staff. Comfortable aircraft. Excellent pilot communication. Food could have more choice.
I was not happy with the final total layover duration of 6hours. I booked a flight with 3h layover in Toronto, and a few weeks before the trip initiation I was notified of flight change due to flight cancellation of connecting flight, extending the layover to 4h. On the day of flight, the connecting flight was delayed by 2h so the final actual layover total was 6h. I would rather pay more to choose direct flights to Tokyo if layover duration keep on extending like this if I choose Air Canada.
Departure gate was changed several times. Each time resulted in a long walk. Flight was an hour late getting off the ground. The delay resulted in my missing my connecting flight to Calgary.
Plane was over an hour late.

My last 4 flights with AC have been disappointing"

Ưu: "Flew economy from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Aircraft looked like a newer Airbus A320 with the new Air Canada branding (black lettering against white fuselage). Air Canada check in process has passengers use self service kiosks first and then take the tags and luggage to the counter. The employees at check in were all very efficient and made sure the line didn't get too long. The flight left on time. Every seat had personal entertainment system, and mine worked great. The flight attendants themselves were very professional."
Khuyết điểm: "The in flight magazine was water damaged and somewhat soiled (probably from prior passenger's drink). I wish the on ground cleaning crew would take the time to inspect the seat back pockets."

Ưu: "The waiting room before boarding was big and comfortable. Staff was very friendly."
Khuyết điểm: "Children running around because there wasn't anything to do. Passengers ignoring no food and drink signs. A passenger had a nut allergy so no food could be eaten or served with nuts. I understand this serious health risk, but passengers need to be handed out free of charge crackers or cookies if they were counting on eating their own snack. Passengers were putting both their carry on and personal item in the over head storage and therefore there wasn't enough storage for those would only wished to store one item."

Ưu: "Can't really complain; a typical, good flying experience with Air Canada. They're the only ones that go direct between YYZ and SFO, so not much choice there, but their staff are always friendly and courteous, and usually the plane provides wifi (for a price), which makes the hours whiz by."

Khuyết điểm: "Only told after tickets purchased, that a visa was needed to change planes in Canada! This information needs to be provided prior to purchase. I paid one-third the cost of the ticket to cancel it and then had to book another ticket closer to departure which was more expensive. Have never heard of such a thing. I live overseas and but had a valid U.S. visa for my travel, but couldn't change planes without applying tor a temporary resident visa which takes longer to obtain than the time before I needed to fly. Very upset and disappointed. Will certainly avoid purchasing from Air Canada again."
Ưu: "crew was friendly. thankfully the flight was not full, so most people (not me) were able to stretch out on multiple seats in the rear. Food was typical; keeps you alive but that is the best we can say."

Even then, I could only watch TV shows on my laptop --you need an app to see movies. Very strange and felt like being in a domestic flight."

Khuyết điểm: "It is the first international flight that do not have any television screens, music stations or any entertainment on board. Alcoholic beverages are not free! We sat in seats that cannot recline - for the whole flight from Barcelona to Toronto. Cabin crew did not keep the cabin clean. Although we flew Air Canada from Barcelona to Toronto and have not left the inside of the airport, we had to go through customs again and almost missed our flight to Atlanta due to that. Airport officials were rude; some of the crew members treated us with disrespect and not approachable. It is the worst international flight ever - even worse than some third world carriers that I used before."

I ran and got to the gate for the montreal flight while they were doing their last call. At first they told me I was going to be able to get on the flight, then they said I was not on the flight, and they turned me down ... I found out later that while flying to Toronto, Air Canada had changed my flight because they estimated I was not going to make my connection!!! I had to wait in line for 2 hours to get rebooked, and after waiting, the person who was rebooking my flight decided to take on another person and made me wait even longer. I was sent to Frankfurt instead of Montreal!"

Khuyết điểm: "The flight was delayed for reasons that were not communicated to the waiting passengers. The plane was there and seemed ready to go. Perhaps they were fueling up, unsure. Those around me were getting restless as many had connecting flights that were being impacted. Perhaps if updates were given as to why the delay was taking place, it would have settled some of the passengers."

It took me nearly 3 hours to get anyone's attention, and finally told i was 'lucky' to get on a flight the next morning, after missing a Wedding dinner. I was also forced to pay 2x cab rides to the airport. Thanks Air Canada"
Ưu: "The trip from Toronto to San Francisco was better than the San Francisco trip because the return trip was on a Boeing 747 and a much more comfortable than the Airbus."
Khuyết điểm: "The Airbus red eye going to Toronto was too cramped so it was not very relaxing. The planes are not clean. I'm glad I have wipes to clean the table tray because it was messy."

The flight crew works slower then I have ever observed in my over 200 flights. Took them 1hr 40min to serve what they called "dinner", Delta and others knocks it out in 30!!! And don't get thirsty, You'll die of dehydration before you get a drop of water. They treat ice like its gold. 2 cubes for each drink. If u ask for more u get one more cube. Lol. It was just a horrible experience! I will never fly Air Canada again."

Khuyết điểm: "I was very unhappy at check in area, long queue to check in then at the baggage area I was told by a staff member to put the baggage onto the scales then lift it onto the conveyer belt I am a 74 year old senior and I had great difficulty doing this and I was very annoyed as the staff member watched me struggle but did not offer to help. A kind passanger assisted me. This was even more annoying as I had to pay $25:00 + tax for my case."
