After an over 18 hour flight. the last that could have been done was to update the passengers so we had an idea of how long we would be sitting there. it is understandable that weather may cause delays, however, it is inexcusable that we were told it would be a 2 hour delay, and were not updated until approaching 3 hours, and additionally, after that, we were told we would be approaching the gate at 10 and were not updated for another hour. The crew should have kept us better informed with the updated delays. They didn't pass out a single snack the entire 4 hour delay, and gave us one cup of water each, terrible experience"

However because of the way they hsndled this the delay turned out to be a blessing! Etihad put us up for the 12hour daytime delay in the magnificent Marriot Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The communication and transfer were handled very well. It was a painless process and we got to enjoy a lovely rest before being transferred back to the airport and flying home. Pretty much a faultless experience and one that would see me fly Etihad again without hesitation."

In terms of seating, the seats are pretty standard long-haul fare. There is limited room but the issue is cushioning. They feel pretty hard and it was difficult to be comfortable."

Khuyết điểm: "Etihad overbooked me along with more than a dozen other passengers on a 14-hour international flight. Apparently Etihad decides on who gets left behind. Etihad's "Transit Travelers" service is one of the WORST customer service desks I've ever been to. I waited in line for 2 hours. Passengers were urging to be served so they can make it to their connecting flights not knowing they have been already selected not to board those plains. Voices were raised and demands were made to speak to the supervisor. It was chaos. I made it to the agent shortly after the gate to my flight had opened. I was shocked by how the agent lacked empathy when he informed me I won't make it to the connecting flight because it had been overbooked. Not an apology or even sir! I was forced to be rerouted which stretches my 25-hour trip to 33 hours. Then the connecting flight gets delayed more than an hour resulting in missing the second connecting flight. Now my trip has become a 41-hour trip, I missed a day of work that's worth more than double the value of the voucher Etihad gave me and lost one day of unscheduled vacation. Etihad even damages my bag that had servived more than 10 flights. I will never fly Etihad and strongly recommend against flying with Etihad."

Also the flight attendants never woke me up for my 2nd meal, even though I very clearly used the sleep-mask provided that said "wake me up for meals" written in all over the front. I don't understand why this system was set in place if your cabin crew aren't going to use it...? Also did not like the mango custard -- was a bit weird. I'd recommend just plane/vanilla custard -- these flavors are much more widely appreciated by everyone. Mango is too quaint, even for those requesting hindu-vegetarian meals."
Ưu: "I got sick, and I felt faint and and nauseous. When I told a member of the crew, he took me back to the galley and let me lie with oxygen until I felt better. The rest of the crew continued to check on me the rest of the flight."

The in flight internet I purchased but was unable to use after being charged for more that one email -- it went out and stayed out. $22 down the lost unless I can get refunded, which I have requested. If Etihad doesn't refund me, I will be taking it up with Paypal as well as other review sites and business channels."

Staff also had difficulty understanding my English so I gave up on communication."

Food was sub-par. Is rice mixed with noodles a thing?"

Every boarding/unboarding has always been by bus, and we had to be exposed to the elements. Since we were traveling between two warm places, we were not prepared to be out in freezing weather. 2. Layover in CAN was terrible: It was too long (10 hours); Guangzhou Baiyun had NO HEAT and so was very cold, too few charging stations, and very spotty wi-fi. I could not use my credit card in at least one place. At a McDonalds (probably a knock-off actually), the cashier was quite rude, allowing native Chinese customers to cut in line in front of me and unapologetic with their "no-credit-cards" policy. Customer service personnel need better training in international relations."

I understand costs are important, but a steamed piece of bread and a foil packet of pickled vegetables is a bit of a stretch. The gate agents were less than helpful. I usually get an upgrade with my Delta status on partner airlines. Nope, not on this flight. I requested it and they said it is not possible on China Southern. I showed them my boarding pass from less than 48 hrs before on the same airline... they looked bewildered. Boarding was the usual "every man for himself". Zones? Classes? Awards members? Not in Shenzhen..."
Ưu: "I flew China Southern from Shenyang to Shanghai 4 days after rupturing my Achilles tendon. There service was fantastic, getting me wheelchairs through both airports, changing my seat to give my leg more room, giving me special attention during the flight to make sure I was comfortable. Their service for me was outstanding and caring in every way. 10+ from me. Thank you China Southern!"

Providing any amount of beverages we asked for as well as adjusting cabin temperature and providing with extra blankets. Nice selection on entertainment system with no hassles to make It work. Always smiling. Constantly cleaning up trash and the bathrooms. One of my most enjoyable long distant flights ever!"

Khuyết điểm: "On Sep 14th, I paid on your websites with the confirmation of three airline tickets from Chengdu China to Los Angeles. All the information I provide for each passengers are correct. However, due to the fact that you missed up three of the passengers information, they couldn't check in yesterday. The whole fight to LA was missed. As a result, we had to pay very high price to buy new tickets for the next available fight in order to complete the trip. I'v made four phone calls with your agent, with all records made. 1) The 1st agent confirmed that the information I provided were all correct for each passengers. So she believed there was nothing wrong and did nothing to help. 2) The 2nd agent realized the information were mixed up. But it was too late to let them check in. 3) The 3rd agent confirmed that the issue were caused by your system. He said only the supervisor could deal with this matter. He gave me a number which is not valid. 4) Finally, the 4th agent said you would contact me. No response by now. Still waiting for the response. Very disappointed after all."
Khuyết điểm: "On a 2:20hr flight they start movie 20-30 minutes after takeoff and turn off at top of descent (22 mins before landing) Why consistently show 2hr (avg) length movies (in the case X-Men Apocalypse), thus on last 3 flights on this route, no movie has been finished. Either start earlier/end later or pick Videos that fit in the time window they offer for viewing"
