The flight was American Airlines internal - similar to Jetstar with a bit more room! Pretzels and a soft drink for a 5 1/2 hour flight, no screen.
I liked the entertainment selection. The boarding was delayed and I was selected twice for extra security checks. The seating was cramped I needed a pillow between my knees and the seat in front of me to keep from being injured.
Flight delayed. Food ok bordering on mediocre. Pleasant attendants.

In my experience 2hrs is minimum time between connecting flights - otherwise good experience."

The flight was delayed two hours but no notifications or updates from Jetstar or on the terminal display screens. I received several from Kayak and TripCase and could see the delays on flight trackers so the world knew but Jetstar customers were kept in the dark. Boarding and disembarkation was slow on both flights we took with Jetstar as compared to the other airlines we used. We travelled with other airlines during our trip (Bamboo, Vietnam Airlines and their flights were quick to board and disembark and any issues were promptly communicated by SMS, email and staff).

Since I did not know and could not answer how much the weighed I decided to check them online myself since it gave me options for weight/price I knew our bags would be under - the chat ended and I proceeded to try to pay for one bag each online. However, after more than a half dozen attempts which were all rejected I had to close the online check in and leave as we were running short on time to get things done and get to the airport. At the airport I told all this to the agent at bag check and she would do noting but charged me about $240 for the two bags - grossly more than the $28 for one and $38 for the other that I was trying to pay online & roughly as much as the cost of the flights! Will you please let me know what can be done to get my money back as this is just not right?"

The pre-pay prices are very reasonable, but they are dramatically more if you wait to add luggage until arrival at the airport. Overall, the personnel were very friendly, and it was a good flight...just make sure that you are aware of what I just mentioned."

I even placed my bag in the sizer at the gate but she still told me it was too large and "too heavy" although she did not weigh nor pick up my bag. About 5 minutes prior I had seen her walk a guitar that had been gate checked down to the plane. My bag was not so lucky. I arrived at Avalon and my bag didn't. My bag was going to arrive on the next plane which wasn't coming in for 3 hours. We were staying about an hour from the airport and boarding an early morning flight from Tullamarine to Los Angeles. Deliveries of missed luggage ceased 2 hours before my bag was due at the airport and didn't commence until after I was due at Tullamarine the next morning. The flight attendant who made me check my bag was on my flight and easily could have told me my bag wouldn't be making it on our flight but she didn't. She was rude, smug, and unaccomodating. The customer service representative at Avalon, Debbie, was more than helpful trying to figure out the best option for me to retrieve my luggage before my flight home to Los Angeles. She made a stressful situation a little less so. Thank you Debbie!"
