It was fine. Not the greatest but not the worst. Could have better selection of movies for a 16 hour flight, and WiFi that actually works.
Everything about the flight and crew was amazing. They were helpful, courteous, responsive, and friendly. I lost my air pods in the seat and they took their time finding them, all with a smile on their faces. The food was good, drinks plentiful. The only minus was that my entertainment module was not working, but I was offered miles, which was lovely. Mabuhay Philippine Airlines!
They cancelled both of the flights and could not offer options to match the connecting flights that already for my final destination. Requested to cancel and reimburse them but got no replies so far
The plane sat for over an hour after we were all boarded and caused us to be near an hour and a half late. I missed my next flight. Total cost o f missing flight: New flight $289 Old flight $377 Two nights lodging as there was not other flight for 2 days $309 Taxi $50 to and from airport Food for 2.5 days $175 Time involved priceless I live only on social security which all the above expenses equal one month income

If the journey is as important as the destination, then it already failed the minute I was seated in a very intimate setting alongside strangers and seeing the economy class fully booked. The airline defended this by saying they have special economy seats but I complained that this is not equitable since the seats are limited and not everyone could afford an upgrade. Even if they could, the passengers would still be seated side by side and the total number of passengers aboard a tight and enclosed space or load factor is still very high. The airline’s policy was so inconsistent with the very rigid rules of the different government agencies upon disembarkation."

We waited on the plane only to later learn that the flight was cancelled and we had to deplane! After more waiting at the gate in the terminal we were to hotels. We went to bed at around 4:45 AM, only to get a wake up call at 7 AM whilst we were not leaving the hotel until 11:00 AM for a 1:30 PM departure! Horrible! We ended up leaving even later, at around 2:30 PM. Throughout, communication from the company was abysmal. Never again Philippine Airlines for me !"

Despite the fact that the PAL terminal was pretty poor, and the food on board was never really decent, we remained loyal to PAL for quite a few years. On our way back to Melbourne from Manila on June 17, Saturday, Colin, Hendrix and I were awaiting boarding at gate 10 for flight PR 209. Having flown with PAL from Melbourne to Manila (as well as with another airline from Manila to Manchester and back), we understood that the usual procedure was to allow passengers with infants to board first. Due to the lack of order (there were no clear queues in sight), Colin decided to ask 3 different PAL personnel if there was, indeed, a priority queue for people travelling with infants. ALL THREE PERSONNEL ASSURED US THAT THEY WERE NOT YET BOARDING AND THAT WE WOULD BE CALLED UPON PRIOR TO THEM LETTING ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANE. 2 minutes later, a PAL personnel appears with signage that reads certain row numbers and begins to call out to ALL PASSENGERS FOR BOARDING. Colin swiftly rushes to the front (me and baby in tow) and demands an explanation as to why we were told one thing but are watching them act upon something completely different. I wish I was joking when I tell you that the personnel just stared blankly at us and then carried on checking boarding passes. No apologies, no explanation offered. As soon as we boarded, Colin turned to the first flight steward he saw and asked for a complaint form and told this could ONLY be done online, to which Colin requested we be given the email/web address upon take off. The seats assigned to us were on the right most side of the aircraft, a window and a middle seat. As Colin was placing our bags in the overhead compartment, the steward called to Colin from across the aisle (past the 3 seats in the middle of the plane) to introduce the purser, Jolly Bello. Please note this was happening while people were also trying to get past and get to their seats -and Mr. bello called out across the aisle, "I heard you have a complaint??" to which Colin, baffled, replied "yes do you want to come over here so we aren’t shouting over these people?". Colin yet again told this purser what the complaint was about and was asked (verbatim) "so would you like to make a complaint against THEM?" Would the correct protocol not be to 1. Apologise for any confusion, miscommunication or poor service, 2. Take some responsibility and acknowledge the complaint and 3. Maybe come approach us AFTER TAKE OFF and not while everyone is trying to board the plane? We are no longer choosing Philippine Airlines."

Waited Over 5 Hours for a 1 1/2 hour Flight. Manila AirPort is absolutely pathetic. This was after Cebu Pacific personnel tried to overcharge me for excess baggage.

That might be ok for the average 5'4" Filipino, but at 6'1", I literally could not fit my knees behind the seat in front of me. As a result I had to twist my legs into an uncomfortable position for 2 hours. Not fun."

I could have tolerated a charge of $50, but I found $150 to be outrageous. Seats were narrow, legs hit the back of the seat in front. No need for such a configuration, since the flight was only 1/3 full. I won't fly Cebu Pacific again. Congratulations, you lost my business."
