Departing from San Diego, this was only an option once a year I was told at the check in counter. I was counting on extra width and legroom as I am 270 lbs and 73" tall. I was disappointed that these up-gradable seats were not available. I also did not like that we sat on the Oksaka tarmac at a divert airport from Narita (Tokyo) and were not given an option to leave the plane and find alternate transportation of our choice to get us to our destination. I understand the high winds and bad weather was not allowing us to land on time, but we sat on the tarmac for 2 1/2 hours and then left to fly into Narita 5 hours late."

Nobody arranging it and people just going wild, nobody knows where the line should begin. We spent 2 hours plus in the imigration line. So from the scheduled time to arrive at Tokyo 5pm, we get to our Hotel at 2am. Good job Narita airport!"

Announcements were in multiple languages, and very easy to understand. The flight was only 2 hours long, but even during that short time, they maintained great professionalism and polish. They even retrieved and stowed a bag multiple times for an elderly passenger without complaint, and frequently checked on him to see if he needed anything else. Quite nice to see!"

One of the male stewards was appalling towards a young mum I sat next too...too the extent of giving her dirty looks because she spilled a bit of water on the seat and then told her she had to pack everything away she was using, including the baby wipes! I stepped in and told him how this was not ok and all other staff members were helpful and he was making this Mum upset. He should not be working for such a people friendly reputable airline! Maybe Jetstar instead! Was appalled at the entire flight to be honest!"

Ưu: "It's not the cheapest way to fly but it's a great way to cross the Atlantic. Seats are big enough for 2, really. Lay flat beds make the night crossing east tolerable. You really can get several hours sleep. The cabin crew is outstanding, patient, and extremely responsive to requests. Two meals served were excellent. Entertainment choices were complete. After a number of flights in Economy on other airlines I'm spoiled by Singapore Airlines and also by Business Class. And their fares seemed much less than others for the JFK to FRA route. Had no idea this level of luxury existed on an airplane."

My wife and I both took note that the flight attendants were "First Class" with emphasis on class. We are bragging to all our friends about the uplifting cultural demeanor of Singapore Airlines. They should all get a pay raise. Khuyết điểm: "I purchased this ticket without realizing that the law stipulated 6-month validity remaining on one's US passport to enter singapore. The Singapore Airways website does not state this anywhere, and it was not until I arrived at the airport that I was informed that I wouldn't be able to check in, but nor could I refund or transfer the ticket. The booker should be obliged, when one enters the passport information upon purchasing the ticket, to make note if the passport expiration time is not valid for the flight. Spent $600+ on the flight, and the customer service person I spoke to from the airport was very abrasive and not interested in helping me figure out an alternative."

Started my trip on a negative note which was avoidable. I have found the training crew get and the ground staff get are disparate. As efficient as the onboard crew are, the ground staff in DXB and now NYC do not match up."

In each direction for some reason, I was unable to check in online for the second flight, which didn't make sense (so Emirates there and Jet Blue back). On top of that, neither could give me boarding passes that would work for the other. The customer service kiosk took about 15 minutes to get this done for Jet Blue in JFK."

Khuyết điểm: "I flew from Singapore to New York with a 1 hour 15 minute layover in Dubai. Passengers with layovers were instructed to be at the next gate 45 minutes in advance of boarding. This was seemingly impossible and cause myself and many other passengers severe anxiety running through the airport. The first flight landed 10 minutes late in Gate C, took another 10-15 minutes to off board, at which point we were held by a flight attendant who later guided us to get on a bus to take us between terminal A and C. The entire trip between gates was approximately 30 minutes and we inexplicably had to pass through security 3 times during the layover. It seemed poorly organized and myself and other passengers just made the second flight before the doors closed."

I ended up having to rebook his flight via Air Canada. The payment was processed and accepted immediately. I figured 7 hours was sufficient time to process a payment. It was not. My husband is now incurring additional charges and is missing employment in Canada. I'm looking for some compensation. I have never encountered this wait time when purchasing an airline ticket. Your site/app has great reviews but you need to work on credit card approvals. Thanks for your time and I look forward to being compensated."

Offered to rebook 10hr later with 40 HK food credit. Happened to my uncle and cousins 1 month earlier on exact same legs. Would not recommend any layover with this airline in hong Kong for less than an hour. Numerous phone calls from me to sort this out, which resulted on another carrier to Hanoi."

Pillow covers were filthy. There were body fluid stains and long hairs stuck to the covers. I went through and rejected four of them. Inflight service was good but there was an unwritten Cathay Pacific rule that I was not aware of.........each passenger is restricted to two alcohol beverage drinks in any one hour period."

The seats were hard plastic, 21st century headphones didn't properly work because their inputs required two jacks instead of the now standard one, half of the seat belt had what can only be described as a fun noodle attached around it, and instead of the seat back reclining the actual seat just slid outwards, making you slouch instead of recline. While the staff was lovely, I honestly can't believe airplanes like this are still in commission. All it was missing was an ash tray in the arm rest."

Ưu: "I was on vacation in the Philippines and I was very worried i wouldn't be able to fly back to Portland. I was late to realize that my passport was expiring in less than 6 months. The staff went way beyond in helping me figure out what i need to do. They called a lot of people to make sure i have the right information. They even gave me contact information of the other airline with my connecting flight and advised me to call them to make sure I won't have any problems with boarding with my connecting flight. The service is totally great. I will definitely fly with them again."

But the headwinds (certainly no fault of China Airlines!) made us 45 minutes late in Taipei, making us a little anxious about making connections, especially when we saw the long line to x-ray baggage going from one terminal to the next."
