I understand this carrier needs to cater to a broad cultural and geographic audience, but I think they make it too complicated. Giving meal service a decidedly Japanese angle results in main courses that are mush, and sides that are OK. Good yogurt, decent fruit, delicately prepared salads, delicious cookies and hagen daz are pretty simple and make the meals fun. (especially since chop sticks are always included), but the ovens turn the main courses into a stinky and kinda nasty thing. I wish they would simplify."

Khuyết điểm: "(1) Was about to miss flight because originally my flight booking was from Benazir International Airport Islamabad but t the time of flight I boarded from a different and new airport in Islamabad which had become operational in Islamabad in the last week of April 2018 . My flight was on 10th May 2018 from Islamabad to Doha to Chicago but neither my online booking site ( Kayak ) not Qatar Airways sent any notification that my Boarding was changed from Banzir International Airport to the newer, bigger airport. Consequently , on the day of flight, I went to check in and board from the Bnazir International Airport but upon reaching the airport I was told that the airport was no more in operation. I was surprised to hear that all flights were to be from the newer airport. By the time I rerouted my taxi to the new airport I was already late for my flight but fortunately the flight from Islamabad to Doha, Qatar was delayed and I made it to the boarding time and flew to Doha , Qatar and then to Chicago."
Ưu: "I had never heard of Qatar Airways before I booked a 24hr flight to and from Sydney, Australia. I only did this on the suggestion from a friend that stated Qatar Airways was "alright". So for the price I thought what the heck! I was extremely pleased with the service from the cabin crew. They are always polite, professional, and well trained compared to my previous favorites Delta and Lufthansa. The seats were comfortable (as comfortable as Economy and 24hours of flying can be), the entertainment and aircraft were state of the art, and the food was outstanding for airline food. If I get the chance in the future I will definitely choose Qatar Airways for long trips."

Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."

Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

Assigned last seat in plane going even though short layover - had to run after 12 hours on plane since got last bus to terminal and waited, waited, waited for final passengers, not fun. Way back flight changed and no accomodation made (a lounge, room, anything) for 7.5 hour layover "you'll just have to hang in there" in middle of night even though others on my tour with same issue in dubai got a room included. With added stress of going through qatar which i booked because of longer layover so wouldnt miss connection just before political decree announced, i will do anything to avoid qatar again despite the very friendly crew. And having to wrap my camera equipment to check it, get extra insurance, such a pain."

If the person in front of me reclined all the way, they crushed my knees and I'm only 5'7". - Bathrooms were dirty by 4 hours into the 14 hour flight. Sinks clogged, garbage can overflowing. Not just one bathroom. Gross. - Worst flight attendant service I've ever had, and I don't expect much since I've traveled a lot. Service was rushed, coffee cart for our side of plane never arrived, when I walked to the back to ask for some, they couldn't find the milk and made a fuss about looking for sugar. Lots of similar examples throughout the flight. - The baggage claim carousel number never appeared on the screens at IAD after landing. Other flights showed but not Quatar. We waited a while then walked around to check them all until we found the right carousel. Never seen this happen before. - One of our bags never appeared, so we waited until all luggage had come out and checked with the counter. They found our bag somewhere and brought it over after a 20 minute wait. No explanation given. Good thing we'd counted bags."

Perhaps not qatar's fault(?) but we bought duty free alcohol in Brussels and took as carry on then after a layover in Doha we were advised Australian regulations prohibited us from taking it on board for the final leg - even though it was still sealed in the duty free bag. We were forced to check it protected only by some lightweight clothing and a thin back pack we had been using as cabin luggage. Fortunately it made it undamaged - but it would be better if we had been informed of this at Brussels."

There was a flight delay out of Iquitos due to fog, causing us to miss our next connection in Lima to Cusco but the staff in Iquitos made sure we got on the next plane with new tickets and luggage transferred to the right plane. Naturally, we were disappointed with several hours of delay due to safety but were pleased with the service in resolving our concerns. There was no entertainment available on this trip ever through there was a screen for each seat."

Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."

Khuyết điểm: "The itinerary I selected from Kayak site was impossible to accomplish especially with checked luggage because they would not transfer my bag from one airline to the next. Although I got my luggage quickly and got to the check in counter right away, the flight had closed and I had to wait for the next flight."
Ưu: "Avianca originally denied me a boarding pass because of a broken ankle injury sustained while on vacation. After a lot of arguing with the check in staff I was 'allowed' to purchase an upgrade to fist class. The Cusco checkin staff (except one) should be ashamed. The flight crew was fantastic."
Khuyết điểm: "I strongly believe they cancelled our flight due to lack of passengers. The plane was sitting on the runway. I boarded for almost two hours for a flight of only one hour away. They were holding plane to fill with those already scheduled for the next flight?"
Ưu: "Immediately after I finished with the check in agent, two men flashed police badges, grabbed my bags, and took me to a sketchy back room upstairs and absolutely tore apart my bags. While my bags were being searched they peppered me with questions. It lasted about 20 minutes and it was extraordinaryly stressful because they didn't seem to care if I was going to miss my flight. Normally, i wouldn't blame the airline for this, but another lady who was similarly harassed said that when she asked someone they said that if you're traveling alone and booked online, you got flagged for this extra screening. (A young German man was also dragged to the back room... we were all very non-Andean looking). That is ridiculous criteria to prevent anything- terrorism or drug smuggling! I would think the airline/police could come up with better criteria. Also, there was no drug sniffing dog and they didn't even have me turn on my gigantic camera... which I have had to do in the past to demonstrate that it was functional. Horrible."

Khuyết điểm: "Flight was delayed 4 hours so we missed our connection. The entertainment system was down during the flight and all they did was apologized over the speaker. There was no rep waiting to help upset customers so we had to wait TWO hours in line as there were only 2 girls at the counter when there are 6 counters. They were completely unapologetic and although they set us up on another airline to fly back, the whole experience was completely unsettling. AVIANCA NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!"
Ưu: "The flight was about one hour late. We were advised of the late departure while checking in. The plane was very comfortable and the ride was smooth. Staff were professional and courteous."

Khuyết điểm: "Flight was cancelled and we couldn't get out until the next day. They did put us in a hotel and pay for our meals, so that was good, but it was still several hours in line and a big inconvenience. The $30 off coupon for a future Avianca flight is pointless since we live in the US and don't plan to be back in Peru anytime soon. I free ticket or at minimum an upgrad on any star alliance partner would have been appreciated."

Told us that there was a sick passenger on the plane and asked if my friend and I would volunteer to take a flight out the next day, that star alliance would put us up in a hotel over night, pay for our evening meal and fly us business class in the morning, that all we had to do was wait at our departure gate And someone would call our name before boarding. We accepted, waited patiently, then we were scolded for having our checked bags with us and told multiple different conflicting stories about how we were to board our flight, that volunteers were no longer needed. I checked multiple times with check-in crew to confirm that the scenario was a go. They confirmed each time, so I canceled my accommodations for the evening in Lima. The change up at the gate left for a big mess to clean up. The gate crew kept arguing hat they never told us to cancel our Lima plans. But that was besides the point. The point was, they told us one thing, there was a major breakdown in communication among check in and gate crew as well as between all crew and me and no crew member took ownership or apologized for the flub up. And I'd like to point out, this was not a language barrier issue, all flight crew spoke English fluently. One crew member said all volunteers were obtained and they no longer needed us, another said that the sick person flying (the initial issue) was no longer flying, so no volunteers were needed. crew never owned that. they suggested that it was our issue that we canceled our plans. We were able to fix, but incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience."

Got lucky that they didn't move us onto a next flight because there was a domino effect on the flight. I stead of solving a problem for 200, they began to make problems for 600."

Khuyết điểm: "Upon arriving in Lima, Avianca 808 passengers became aware that none (zero, nada) of the bags were loaded onto the plane in Cusco. The customer service response to this airline error was sub-par. Passengers were told that the baggage issue was "weather-related", which is ludicrous even if the weather both in origin and destination had not been clear and sunny with no wind (it was). Info was taken on if passengers needed bags sent on to another destination or to a hotel but were told it would not get to Lima until the next morning (this was flight 808 landing just before 4 pm). Unclear why it couldn't be put on the next flight same day. And unclear what is happening to our bags now until the morning. No apology wasn't issued to passengers. Additionally we were delayed 15 mins due to "weather". I don't mind short delays but it was absolutely not weather-related. Weather is the default excuse to transfer fault away from themselves."

Ưu: "Although we were in "Economy" class, it felt just like Business. Lots of space to stretch your legs, personal TV monitor on the back of each head rest (Including HBO!), and even though it was a short 1.5 hour flight we were served drinks and a meal."

I told her it was an hour before and i had valid tickets and she was not ready to listen to anything. Horrible service ! Who closes gates to a flight an hour before ?"

Since the flight from DC was delayed for more than an hour we ended up missing our connection flight from Colombia to Lima, Peru. And from there everything went downhill. In Colombia they crew didn't know what was going to happen to us. After waiting over 3 hours they finally told us the found an early morning flight for us and that they were going to accommodate us in an hotel in Colombia for to spend the night. we waited until midnight for the transportation to the hotel and there were another 100 persons waiting to get transportation to the hotel as well and to check inn in the hotel. disaster."
Khuyết điểm: "The emergency exit row window seats are extremely uncomfortable. Seats don't recline and there is no arm rest along the wall. Also, there were no vegetarian options aboard and the flight attendants didn't make any effort to put together something I could eat."

Khuyết điểm: "Being bussed a long way out to the airplane made us depart late. Very inefficient handling by the staff. They should have started earlier. This has never happened to me before on United. What has happened?"
Khuyết điểm: "The issues was the ordering of tickets. Purchased through ANA but flight was handled by American. 1. Seats for 5 tickets were scattered all over the plane 2. All seats were middle seats and cost more to have an isle seat. Cost extra $500 to change so family was together. 3. No communications that flights were American Airline flights leaving LAX from American's Terminal, not Bradley. Only found out when calling ANA to change seats. 4. ANA could not change seats so had to call American. All-in-all this was a terrible experience in ticket purchasing."

Khuyết điểm: "luckily for United the crew was there, working hard to make our flight into Denver friendly, they just can't fix the plane. To sit in coach is like sitting at a high school footbal game on the metal outside bleachers. I hope confort and 1st class had a better seat and area."

Also other airlines don't require you to check in at the counter if you're not checking a bag. Why would United want all passengers at their ticket counter or kiosk? Ridiculous!"

Flying is a demeaning experience where the airlines nickel and dime you for everything. Seats in economy are miniscule, your neighbors are in your laps, the food is objectionable and costly, entertainment non-existent or costly. Customers are cash cows who can be sucked dry for every amenity."

I like the Boston to SF flight, aisle seat, huge aisles, no one looked uncomfortable, bathroom kept immaculate, and small plane to Burbank excellent, I even had whole aisle to myself."

My cell phone was not working great, so had no entertainment"

I had the Ceasar chicken wrap paid somethings around 9 dollars and Iwas served half a small wrap. The worst part was even though we bought our seats early, together and picked our seats during purchase were changed at the gate and my wife and I were seated in opposite sides, both in center seats and had to beg our way into sitting together."

Plane was old and unrenovated - there was no entertainment, but you could still see where the old air phones used to be in the seat acts. Boarding was confusing, even for seasoned flyers, with multiple groups using one line."
