The airline did nothing to prepare for this situation. It took hours to get another flight organised, communication was non existent and refreshments took ages to come. Airline didn't help with finding a hotel for stranded passengers."

Rating low to the crew mainly because of the ground staff as they were not very communicative to begin with about the explanation for our delay. Only when the passengers got a bit more vocal about wanting explanations, they started giving us a bit more information. All estimated times given for boarding the flight were incorrect by a big margin! Seemed more like they were giving shorter wait time for boarding just to please the passengers, where as they were well aware of how long the wait would be."

My husband and daughter were in First Class. The service was below average to say the least - more training required from check in to on board - (in Sydney the staff on the ground went above and beyond) In Singapore it was very fake and contained no sincerity. The lounge itself was also ordinary compared to others, no Amenity kits or PJs in business class - even Virgin Australia has that! I was so excited to be travelling Singapore again given past experiences but now Im not sure I will want to fly them again."

I just was a little bothered by the fact that I had purposely chosen to have my boarding pass be digital (to save the environment), but to do this you have to check in online. As a result, they can't verify your passport (something they need to do in person). So when I got to the gate they had to check my passport and then made me use a new, printed boarding pass. Not a huge deal, but just something that bothered me."

Khuyết điểm: "A good half the plane was first class and business class. (This was a 15 hour Hong King to Boston flight.) They handed out a fancy menu with 4 entrees but by the time they got to economy only pasta was left. We did at least get a small bottle of water; on our outgoing flight they doled it out in meager glasses. When boarding in Hong Kong we had to go through an additional security check between the gate and the plane (that was a first...) and had our water bottles confiscated. So we were reliant on what they would give us on the plane. Seats were tight, unlike some airlines that give you a little extra room. Wouldn't fly again unless their price was a real bargain."
Ưu: "1st - boarding at hongkong was a pain. You line up at security just to transfer/transit. Then another line up to get inside the boarding area where they again check your ticket and boarding pass. Then theres another line at the gate where they scan your boarding pass. Just when you think you're done, there's another line right before you enter the plane where they check all the hand carry of the passengers. Overkill! 2nd - the crew - not very friendly at all. I noticed they spent more time chitchatting with the caucasian in front of me than with the rest of the asians around me. No smiles for the passengers - not even when they lined up to say hi and goodbye. They were just going through the motions. When they answered the call lights of the ladies in front and beside me, they were curt and abrupt. It was a good thing i didnt need them for anything. Then i happened to go to the restroom and i saw them chatting among themselves in the back while the bathroom was a mess. 3rd - seats were ok, but were narrower 4th - food was hot but the dinner wasnt appetizing at all - some kind of meatball/mashed potato slush. I could only eat less than a quarter of the entree. The breakfast was ok- egg was ok, the bacon was soggy and the sausage was not salty which was a plus. 5th - a lot of movie choices! Helped pass the time quickly"

Ưu: "Two security checks, one at the door of the plane where they take bottles of water that have been purchased after passengers have passed through immigration and security make boarding very slow. There is no priority for Premium. The staff are efficient but service is basic. No sign of staff except when they are serving food. Seats are fine for a day flight. The food is very ordinary and some dishes were not available."

The crew member told me that since the person had settled in I'd have to sit in another seat and pointed to yet another seat. Needless to say I was very confused and more than a little ticked with the inconsistent behaviour. Things didn't get any better when they defended their approach instead of simply acknowledging the problem."

I am a pure vegetarian & in all my flight the crew made sure that I got the correct food tray & it was not mixed with wrong mean (non veg.) by mistake. Unlike other flight where meal is just an obligation, Cathay made sure that the taste was very nice too. Full points to them. The quality of seats was good & nice leg space as well. Overall the experiance was very pleasant & I highly recommend Cathay Pacific."

I compare this with Premium Economy class flights with other airlines I have flown and I will elect not to fly Cathy Pacific again. I also found the food and the service below average. No option for wine on this flight, just red or white."

Very inconsistent experiences and no help for elderly, only babies. Food is not good either, vegetarian meal is not filling just a few vegetables and second main option I was told was noodles but when opened it was western spaghetti with a clump of meat I had to pull apart."

Because of this, the flight was delayed by almost an hour and many people missed their transfers. It seemed like an unreasonable lack of foresight to schedule only the standard half hour before takeoff to board ~300 passengers.On top of that, the flight was roughly four hours long (five with the delay) and no complementary food, even a small snack or two, was offered. The seats in coach were made to be decently comfortable padding-wise, but I felt more packed in like a sardine with the people next to me than on other planes. The flight attendants seemed extremely stressed and overworked, and I couldn't blame them."

Khuyết điểm: "I called customer service to ask questions about the meal options, and for both flights (14.5 hrs) they signed me up for the wrong meals! The staff on the first flight was extremely rude and unhelpful, and refused to let me eat any of the extra meals. Making matters worse, I had asked customer service when I called if they sell food on the flight, which I was told yes. This turned out to be untrue. I had to survive the 14.5 hour flight by only eating 3 tiny bags of pretzels. I sent an email to customer service to complain about this (can't do this over the phone), and didn't hear back for more than a month. On my return international flight, I was AGAIN signed up for the wrong meal (vegan) even though I specifically went over my dietary preference (vegetarian, eats eggs and dairy). Then my luggage was left in Vancouver while I made my way to Sydney, so I had to wear the same clothes for over 72 hrs while the airline "apologized" with giving me only $50. I finally got someone to respond to my complaints when I tweeted them, and their response was that I selected the vegan food option...NOPE, and that's not an apology. I will not fly them again. (PS: they don't give eye masks or toothbrush/toothpaste on international flights even though other airlines do, and their selection of movies/TV shows is about half of other airlines)"

I was trying to sleep on the plane but every time a flight attendant would walk past me they would run into me (and I was very much within my seat) and wake me up. They also woke me up to ask if I wanted food twice. The seats were so uncomfortable. I'm an able bodied 20 something and if I am in this much physical pain from flying I can't imagine what an elderly person must feel like after flying Air Canada. The pillow that was provided gave me no comfort what so ever, it wasn't think enough to even offer some back support."

This was really a bad situation for me as I was meeting my daughter in Toronto who was flying alone with her infant son and she needed my help."

We needed to get to a conference that began Wednesday 3pm, but didn't get in until midnight that night, so we missed the first day of the meeting. The Air Canada service desk didn't exist, so we had to go through two different managers before we finally got an upgrade to business class. After that, the flight was very enjoyable. Once we got to Heathrow at 9pm, we ended up having to pay 60 pounds per person to get to Brighton, finally arriving at our hotel at midnight. Needless to say, we will be contacting the Air Canada customer service and lodging a very large complaint by email...apparently the only way to contact them."
